So itās⦠been a while. For a long time, the idea was to either get back into RPing here or⦠do what Iām fixing to do and make a new blog and do a āsoft reboot,ā if you will. Still the same Mephiles, same story, most everything thatās happened here is still canon, but a fresh start. Iāve got most of it done. I need to decide on a URL, test the theme a little more, remake info pages, but thatās it. Now whatās really important is that I never stopped RPing; it was just done elsewhere, mainly Titanpad. So⦠a bit has happened. This summary got longer than I expected it to, I donāt expect everyone interested to read all of it, so thereās a shorter summary at the bottom of all this.
One of the last things that happened here was Godsā Night Out 2. That was completed and pretty much everything thatās happened since was off site. As mentioned before, all completed RPs can be found here. Thatāll be updated/reblogged again later when more are completed and need to be added, however. Iāll⦠make a page here for them I suppose! Now I know not everyone has the time, patience or whatever to sit down and read really long walls of text, which is where this comprehensive summary comes in! 8) So to make it short and simple, Mephās relationship with Mighty (and Red) is doing just fine. They had some things to work out; itās good. At some point, Mephiles really had to make it clear to them how important it was that they fight back if something where to happen and their life was in danger. Doing that involved recreating the circumstances in which that happened previously. Needless to say, Mighty and Red were not very happy about Mephās methods, but they worked it out just fine. After that, all the stress of months of that led to a good excuse to go see Chasey. They chatted a bit, did friend stuff, Meph got eviscerated in a āplayā fight and after that they headed back to Chaseyās for some rest and smokes. There was a chao garden that will now forever be an excuse for Mephiles to show up unannounced and there may also have been some hallucinating involved after that. Ā A nap left Meph waking on his own which inevitably led to some exploring. As is somewhat obvious, this dude is pretty cat like and exploring tends to go badly for cats. Stumbling upon an Iblis alternate is always bound to be interesting; this instance quickly escalated, a poor result of both parties simply being scared, Mephiles far more so than Iblis. Ā To understand what exactly happened in this fight, one must remember that Mephiles, up until about now, was under the impression that his own Iblis was dead. When he popped out of his world by sheer accident, it was after time and space began to collapse in on itself; he tried teleporting himself somewhere to avoid dying and that was all there was to it. He had no reason to believe Iblis ever survived. Ending up in a new place, realizing that there were multiple universes, this gave him new opportunities: if he couldnāt have his Iblis, perhaps he could have another. This is something thatās occurred to him with every single one whose existence he is aware of; most often, they are too powerful for him to overpower, or simply too intelligent for it to be a possibility. This Iblis was both and a rocky meeting between the two of them led to both of them being scared into fighting, escalating into Mephiles being angry with its existence and that it threatened him. This went poorly, as Iblis is a friend of Tikal, who intervened when the fight should have been over with. What would have been a debilitating blow to Iblis, his dark spike was redirected to hit Mephiles himself; the energy of that attack going straight back to the source was never going to end well thanks to its nature, but no one wouldāve thought that itād release a sleeping Iblis from Mephiles himself. Ā What happened after that was far smoother, if only thanks to Iblisā presence confusing the new one enough to make it forget that something had happened that was worth some sort of violent response. While it certainly explains what happened to his Iblis, it led to more questions that even Mephiles canāt answer. >If you wanna read this bit yourself, youāll want to search (CTRL+F) for the line āMephiles wasnāt quite sure how long heād been asleep, but it was long enough to be a bit sore. At least he hoped it was.ā and go from there.
From then on, it was pretty smooth. Mephiles and the alternate Iblis reintroduced themselves to each other, an uneasy peace settling between the two. Ā Also worth noting towards the end of that RP is Chasey explaining what a āspecial zone,ā at least his own, is to Meph, going as far as to throw the poor dark into one. That then progressed to Chasey giving the other the necessary building blocks to create a Chaos Emerald of his own similar to Chaseyās; itās not a very spectacular thing, but itās worth mentioning. After that, the subject of explaining exactly what happened to Mighty (and Red) was tackled. For that, Mephiles requested the presence of Chasey and Iblis, Tikal tagging along. Iblis was asked to use a nickname to avoid the question of where their Mephiles was, mostly. That didnāt last long before Iblis dropped the ruse, leading to exactly that and then some, essentially learning of a āblanket storyā that applied to most Mephiles and Iblis alternates (think: Sonic ā06 events). Suffice to say, things went badly, leaving everyone a little worse for wear. Ā The subject of gods not being truly and utterly 100% immortal was discussed, along with how the aforementioned fight had gone. The best way I feel I can sum up how that went for Mighty and Red in regards to their thoughts towards Tikal, and the alternate Iblis in a lesser way, is: āYouāve killed a Mephiles alternate, and Iām supposed to trust that you wonāt do the same with //mine//?!āIt went very poorly. Red also succeeded in bringing up the point that Tikal did not need to end the fight the way she did. Ā During this lunch, a subject came up that forced Mephiles outside for some āfresh air,ā leaving everyone, sans Tikal, at the table to discuss matters among themselves, leading to Mighty taking Chasey back to the house to take and ācleanseā some Chaos Emeralds he had that were not quite right. As Mephiles was discussing some things outside with Tikal, she let him know this, leading to him disappearing for a while and Chasey finding only a single gem. Not being an idiot, Mephiles had a number of gems on his person, specifically all of those that belonged to another Chaos (perfectdownpour). Knowing that Chasey planned on cleaning the gems himself, Mephiles left to address some matters with the gemsā owner. Ā From there on, the two parties would split. Red and Mighty would have plenty to say about what they learned, particularly that which seemed to apply to Mephiles. Their attempts to talk to him regarding it were met with hostility; the subject is always going to be a difficult one and now that so much has been spilled by those that donāt know his own story, he is unwilling to even confirm or deny statements. All that the armadillos have seemingly been able to confirm is that Shadow was the one responsible for sealing Mephiles, primarily thanks to Mephilesā own appearance and his statement from years ago that his form is one of his oldest ones and that he became used to it after the years. Ā A while later, after some talking that led nowhere, Red noticed a discoloration along Mephilesā back, black and white and all shades of grey in a piebald patterning that crept into the feathers of wings he now dons. A clear answer was not given regarding it, Mephiles explaining that after his ādealingā with the other Chaos, he wanted to āgo back home to store the left over energy,ā explaining Ā vaguely that he also saw that as a chance to attempt to, albeit perhaps temporarily, free Iblis from himself. It went poorly, the dark stating that it felt like he was being ripped apart. Ā The matter led to the armadillos stating that he should wait before attempting that again, going as far as to suggest that Mephiles should take someone with him in case things went badly. Without even addressing the issue of bringing anyone other than himself into his world, Mephiles shut the idea down completely, noting that his and his Iblisā state was an extreme weakness, saying essentially that the fewer who knew, the better. This aggravated Red especially, disapproving of Mephiles apparently caring so little about his own life. Ā If freeing Iblis led to the two halves fighting, then it would simply ābe.ā If they were to fight, theyād be incapable of ābeginningā a new life without one dying thanks to the link they share so deeply. Mephiles showed no indication of wanting any help, even weeks later when discussing the subject again, stating that it was irresponsible to bring any others into such a potentially dangerous situation. Heād later explain that bringing any others along introduced more variables for him to account for, as well; what Iblis thought of him seemed clear enough as it did not attack him when originally released, but what Iblis thought of others was unknown to him and had the potential to end catastrophically. Mephilesā best chance of having a good encounter with his other half would be to do it alone. Ā However, Mephilesā little trip also made something known to him: there are āpiecesā of themselves scattered about their world thanks to its violent collapse during Solarisā fight against the three heroes. In his panic, when escaping death, Mephiles did not separate himself from Iblis before attempting to escape. It was sloppy and that, coupled with time and space collapsing around them, tore them apart. It is not something that is impossible to fix, but will require a lot of āeverything,ā which is to say, energy, time, knowledge, etc. Ā With Mighty and Red, the subject has come up of whether or not Mephiles likes himself, so to say. One thing the armadillos said led to the response, āI didnāt want to exist in the first place, Mighty.ā Suffice to say, the dark hasnāt spent his existence being very happy; this hasnāt changed that, it hasnāt changed the fact that he and Iblis are the products of another godās death, one that Mephiles in particular is. While few in number and very diluted from trauma and time, he does possess some memory of existing before the Solaris Project. These vague memories have done nothing to help him cope with the mere fact that he exists. At some point, Mephiles had to take some time to visit Chasey, having not since the lunch. That was going to be a tense situation regardless of how it went, and indeed, it could have gone better. In the end, Chasey cleansed the gem, a gem which no longer has a world it belongs in (because I had a plot hole that I had to deal with on my own >:/), and returned it to Mephiles. Of course, he didnāt get it back without being belittled and scolded. The two failed to see eye to eye regarding the gem and its previous volatile state, Chaseyās frustrating unfortunately being taken as a threat by the dark and further straining his trust towards Chasey. Ā Even if all goes well, there isnāt even a plan. Over his years of existing outside his world, Mephiles never considered that this would ever happen. He is quite literally winging it. Shorter summary: On a little pleasure trip to Chaseyās, Meph stumbled across an alternate Iblis and a fight ensued. Tikal intervened when he attempted to knock Iblis down with a dark spike, using two portals so that he hit himself instead. This resulted in his own Iblis being temporarily freed, apparently trapped within Mephiles himself. Thereās a lot of questions and stress, hardly any answers, and itās all a mess but everyoneās pulling through somehow.Ā
