“n-no.” she shook her head. goodness, how would she ever explain this? “like… no dogs are involved, but like… it’s a.. uh.. position.” she winced feeling a little embarrassed. “like… the people are faced like… do- okay, yeah you probably get it, right?” she chuckled and covered her face.

“yeah…” she shrugged her shoulder before moving over to the edge. holding onto it with one of her hands. “well… you remember how at halloween there was those wolves that were hurting people? they thought that it was safer to just microchip all wolves to make sure that it didn’t happen again.” she explained. “i have the scar right here. “she lifted her hair and showed him the little circle scar on her neck. “it’s fine… i understand why. it just sucks.”

“A position?” Su quirked his head to the side ironically like a confused pup. He shook his head no as she try to further explain but it only ended up getting him further confused. “Uh no not really, but we can drop it since its making you all red?” The boy said with a little chuckle. It was kinda cute to see Kira a little flustered when usually it was him who was a jittery about that kinda topic. 

After her he also swam to the edge of the pool and propped himself up with his arms along the side as he gave Kira all his attention. He had no idea that after the tragity that wolves of the town had been treated like criminals. His hand softly stroked the scar on her neck with a sympathetic look. “That’s not fair...” He frowned. “I’m sorry Kira, but you did nothing wrong so why punish you? You’re also a victim in this mess.”

xx-jinsol:

“Oh. Hi.” Jin-Sol blinked in surprise, the take-out in his hand warm against his finger, his grip on the plastic bag tightening. The person who answered the door was not Kira, nor Kita…the person in front of him was a face he wasn’t familiar with, something in the back of Jin’s mind reminds him of Kira’s words. (we moved this guy who was new to town in while kita was away…and we just met him by chance. he’s real sweet. crazy shy, but nice.) She forgot to mention, very, very cute. He snaps out of his daze and smiles, warm and friendly, “Hi!” He says again, “I’m Jin-Sol, is Kira home? I’m a friend of hers.”

His plan was to surprise her with some Thai food. Something the two of them use to share, while they joked around, pretending to watch television. He missed simple things like that so nostalgia brought him here today, a bounce in his step, excited at the prospect.

Su opened the door to his surprise and captured an unfamiliar yet attractive looking face staring back at him. At first he believed this strange man might have came to the wrong place, but then he suddenly remembered Kira and Kita had other friends besides Oliver or Asher who always been the ones taking up Kira’s time lately. He did remember her mentioning a childhood friend moving into town. Perhaps this was him? “Ah.. No sorry.” He said with a shy smile slightly hiding behind the door. “She’s out with her Mother in Seattle for something..” He poked his head out a little more smelling his delicious food.

He felt guilty to turn him away since he came all this way to see her, but her not not being there. It wasn’t unusual of Kira to forget plans. Being scatter brained and all. “Um..” He wasn’t sure if he was allowed to let people in without permission but seeing how he was a close friend Su didn’t see the harm of letting him in and letting him wait for his shared friend. “Y-you can come in and wait til she gets home if you like? It shouldn't be long.” He smiled warmly opening up the door a little more so he could step in and lead him up the stairs to the apartment part of the building. “So how do you and Kira know one another? Are you guys courting or what is the term? Ah dating? Is it?”

“–Oh, Suyeong.. Can’t you see that I’m as excited as you are..?”

She reached out to ruffle his hair slightly and broke into a grin. Lyra was ecstatic with what they had come up with. Although, she needs to make a phone call to make sure that Gemma is free for the entire day. She took his hand with a smile and finally get up on her feet.

“–Maybe we can head over to the bakery first to pick up your friend and buy some freshly baked goods for our picnic? And on our way back, we can make a stop at the convenience to snatch some snacks for us to nibble?”

Su chuckled lightly as his friend reached out to tussle his hair but pulled himself away with a playful whine for her to stop. He was just as ecstatic as his friend hopeful he could steal Kira away long enough for this to actually happen.

“That sounds like a great idea.” He said with the warmest smile. “I can get us a discount on some baked goods too! Do you know what Gemma likes? We can get one sweet for everyone.” He suggested as he began to lead the way. “Oh! I didn’t think about that! Also a great idea! We could could get drinks too while we are at it!” He jumped with excitement in his step. “Wow. I’m so happy we ran into each other today!”

“don’t worry about it, i’m happy to,” he returned the smile, following along as he kept his senses alert for any other threats. he knew this town had a way of taking advantage of softhearted people, forcing them to harden up too fast, and if he could help prevent that for su, well, he would. “no, it’s not weird at all. i uh, i moved here when i was around… i wanna say sixteen? fifteen? something like that. i went to high school with kira and kita, and they never treated me like the weird new kid,” he laughed softly, quite fond of the memory. “kira warmed up to me real fast. and it was a little overwhelming at first, if i’m being honest, but she really made it so much easier to settle down here. get used to all the ‘newness’—y’know?”

Su smiled contently while he listen to the other speak fondly over his memories of meeting Kira and Kita. He was confused why someone would think he was the weird when Suyeong was the actual fish out of water. “Ah Kira is most definitely warm enough to melt the coldest of hearts.” He chuckled turning his head over to Asher as they continued their steps along the sidewalk. “And I guess I can get what you mean by overwhelming because she’s.. very excitable like a baby dog or whatever they are actually called.” He shrugged. “But I have to agree she makes living here so much easier and makes me miss my home less.” The merboy stated even though despite sounding a little sad in his voice.

“don’t worry about it. really,” ash waved a dismissive hand, the other coming up to rub over the back of his neck. “i’m sure anyone would have done the same.” his easy smile gave way to a small chuckle when su commented on his speed, not quite sure how to go about explaining that. he was sure it was probably obvious at this point. “yeah i uh, ran track in high school, y’know? really got in the practice,” he joked, eyes falling low as the boy moved to pick up his bags once more. interrupting him, ash slipped his fingers into the loop of one bag, gently taking it from su. “you don’t have to repay me. like i said, anyone would have done the same. but i’ll take one of these off your hands and get you back to the bakery in one piece. just to be safe. how’s that sound?”

“Oh don’t be so modest.” Su waved away his words with a small nervous laugh. “Ah right.. track..” He nodded gullible enough to believe every last word coming from the vampire’s mouth. “Well what ever that is it worked wonders for you.” He smiled allowing the other to take bags from his hands to lighten the load for him. “Well I guess I can allow that.” He said looking around for anymore dangers lurking about. Admittedly he already felt safer with Asher by his side but sometimes he wished he could take better care of himself by himself. Suyeong knew he had a long way to go with that. “That sounds even more kind of you. I’ll have to think of a way to repay you later.” He smiled over to him leading them on their way. “So um you’re a long time friend or Kira and her brother Kita right? How is it that you guys became friends? Sorry if that’s a weird thing to ask. I’ve just always been curious.”

“–I thought our plan for now is heading to the bakery, to try one of your signature bread?”

She teased him with a laugh. For sure, his pure enthusiasm never ceases to amaze her.

“–But, I can’t think of any better plan than now. That, if you and your friend are free, of course. I can give Gemma a call and see if she can join us later..”

“Oh that’s right! Sorry I almost got distracted by the picnic idea! We can still do both!” He laughed feeling slightly embarrassed. “I’m free right now! And Kira never has trouble getting out of work.” He grins. “She brags about it to her brother constantly.” His feet lift him up from the bench as he turned around to offer out a hand help Lyra up as well. “It up to you if you wanna do both of course.”

“wait,” she stopped and looked at him when he had said the words doggy style. she tried to keep a straight face, but little childish giggles peeked through her pinked face “su, no. i don’t think that’s what you wanted to say.” she shook her head. “um, it’s doggy paddle. doggy style is… um… well… it’s a sex… thing.” she explained miserably. 

“but, um, yeah! it’s super liberating to go on runs.” she answered. “there’s not as much freedom with it since i was microchipped though. so that sucks.”

Su furrowed his brow in complete and utter confusion when she told him that’s not what he wanted to say. In his mind it meant entirely the same thing she said. Human’s were so strange with their sayings. It always left him flustered, frustrated, and confused. “How is that even a sex thing Kira? Dogs have nothing to do with sex.. well at least I hope they don’t.” He said with his innocence just shinning through.

He smiled softly as he listened to Kira speak. The young merboy was almost distracted how the light water droplets decorated her features so elegantly. He was beginning to notice he’d only really noticed her in this light back when they were in Seattle at the aquarium. “Oh?” He swallowed the lump rising in his throat. “They microchipped you?” The whites of his eyes grew bigger at the realization. “Why on earth did they do that to you?”

“–Yes, exactly. That’s what the humans meant by ‘picnic’.”

She couldn’t hinder a smile from growing on her lips. Suyeong was a quick learner. Without a doubt, it’s because the help that was given by the person who he surrounded himself with. She was glad that he manages to get through, despite her lack of presence for a good amount of time.

“–You know, that’s really kind and considerate of her. I’ll have to admit, that I’m glad that you met her. Because, in this cruel world, not everyone is as kind as she is. Now, I want to meet her even more..”

Su smiled warmly at Lyra’s words. “Now I want her to meet you even more! And I also want to meet Gemma even more! When can we plan this? Part of me wants to call them here now!”

“you have an excuse for having awkward legs. they’re still kinda new to you” she laughed out. “i, on the other hand have no excuse. i’ve had these things since i was born.” she shook her head and playfully kicked at him, not even coming close though to hardly touch him as he swan circles around her. she tried to use her legs as if they were a tail like her friend suggested. “um, i dunno if i’m doing this right.”

“Yeah but I’ve been using them for almost a year. I have no excuse anymore.” He laughed along with her. “I guess we are both just doomed to be clumsy huh?” He smiled and then broke into a louder burst of laughter while watching her attempt to flex her tail around like his. “Uh well your form looks a little stiff but you get the idea.” He spread out his arms to now come up and swim closer to her side. “I think I enjoyed, what did you call it? Doggy style form more. It fits you.” He giggled not realizing the words that formed out of his mouth. “What it like being a dog any time you want? I bet that’s gotta be liberating to run as fast as you can in the woods huh?”

ash had been out of a late class when he’d seen it. he recognized the boy as the one from kira’s bakery—the one who’d been staying with her. he never got the chance to officially meet him, but he’d heard enough about him and seen him around enough times to know his face from this distance. and someone just happened to be making off with his wallet while he struggled with grocery bags. asher let out a slow breath, wondering how in the hell asteria still managed to accumulate petty criminals on top of everything else the town housed. but he knew he couldn’t just stand there and let it happen. no. asher im may have been anything but perfect, but he wasn’t about to let some asshole get away with taking advantage of someone who clearly couldn’t help themselves.

waiting a moment for the thief to gain some distance, ash bolted after him, his speed almost a joke in comparison to the others. he’d caught him quicker than it took the asshole to swipe the money.·“that’s not yours? is it?” he’d questioned, leaning in after snatching the guy by his hoodie. and he was careful not to dish out any threats. not with the possibility of hunters being nearby, ready to arrest ash for flashing his fangs.·“i’ll take it. thanks.” he easily forced the wallet out of the man’s hand, shoving him away forcefully, before walking back to the boy who’d dropped it in the first place.·“here,” he spoke as he approached him, holding the wallet out.·“this is yours. you should be more careful. lots of assholes out here after the sun goes down.” he commented, looking the boy over.·“you’re… su, right? i’m asher. i know you’re kira’s friend—i’m uh, sorry i never like, made the effort to introduce myself.”

His tired clumsy legs tried their best to catch up with the thief but the bags of groceries working to weight him down proved to be difficult for Suyeong. Just as he was about give up all hope that when he capture the sight of something wisp by him at an incredible speed. Stopping in his tracks with his mouth gaped apart in astonishment at the strength and stealthiness of his hero. The merboy could swear he was almost witnessing a live action movie. Timidly Su approached the boy before he got a better look at his face. To his surprise it was Kira’s friend Asher. They had only hung out a dew times together while he was working in the bakery with Kira but Su was too shy to ever really carry a conversation with him. 

“T-Thanks.” Su nodded taking the wallet graciously from him with a soft smile. “Yeah I need to keep that in mind thank you really. You saved my life right now seriously.” Su blinked at the question before staring back over Asher with a warmer smile. He was happy that he remembered who he was. “Yeah that’s me.” He chuckled waving his hand. “No no don’t worry about it! I never really made the effort either. Sorry about that.” He sat his bags down to give his arms a rest. “That was amazing by the way! I have never seen someone as move as fast as you! It was almost like you were flying!” He chuckled picking up his bags again. “Thank you so much for helping me I dunno how I could ever repay you Ash.”

she nibbled on her bottom lip, knowing she couldn’t blame su for the way he felt about that man. maybe he wasn’t entirely wrong either, but sora found that things were much easier for her when she didn’t dwell on those times. it made her miss it less and recognize the wrong in it much more. as he spoke her name she met his eyes with a kind smile, brows rising at the questions that came out of his mouth. this, she wasn’t expecting, but for suyeong, she’d do most anything. especially if it helped him feel a little more secure on his feet. “sure i could,” her replied almost cheerfully, smile still in place. “i could tell you everything, suyeongie. but it wouldn’t be much different to what you’ve seen on tv. you already know what goes where—i’m assuming,” she giggled softly. “did you want me to explain in more detail? or…” she nibbled at her lower lip, giving the option entirely to su. “would you want me to show you…? and be honest with me. it’s okay if you say no.”

Her cheeriness was enough to make Su’s anxieties be put to rest even though he wasn’t necessarily sure on how much he was ready to dive into. As Sora spoke all he could think about were the questions buzzing in his head. Did it hurt him? Did it her? What makes you want something like that and what was this tingling sensation he felt sometimes when his heart raced faster next to the person her liked? Maybe he was lucky Sora had ventured into her human studies. Neptune knows he wouldn’t go to anyone else on earth about these kinda topics going on in his head. At the inquiry Suyeong could feel his face burn a bright red. “I-I mean..” He tried his best to act to composed but he was thrown off guard by it. “I dunno because it’s a new and I dunno what I’d be doing and I don’t want to look stupid or you think less of me.” He gasped for air in between. He needed to push himself and not be so timid for once. He needed to be more like her. “What I’m trying to say is. Yes, but I’ll be a little nervous.”

kira laughed. honestly, the idea of him trying to walk around like a newborn deer was pretty amusing. “no, i wouldn’t judge you.” she reassured as she waded in the water. “i would never say no to you teaching me, but won’t there be some kind of difficulty of learning when i don’t have a pretty tail like that?” she giggled as she nudged his fin with her foot. “all i’ve got are these awkward and stupid legs.”

Su let out a laugh with a splash of his tail making some of the water go over the surface of the pool. “I mean I have stupid awkward legs too. I much prefer getting around like this. It makes life easier.” He giggled swimming in circles around her. “Why not put your legs together and pretend you have a tail?”

the very image of blunt honesty, sora was about to answer suyeong before he’d managed to work out what she meant on his own, her eyes widening at his outburst. she couldn’t blame him for how upset he sounded, for how worried he must have been. after all, from the way she’d made everything surrounding james seem, he was nasty and evil. how could su understand there was a time sora truly felt love for that man? “i did, suyeong. and it’s okay,” she attempted to reassure him. “he didn’t ever hurt or force me, i promise. in fact, i was the one who was curious about it to begin with…” she admitted, brushing her hair over her shoulder. “i had questions. he had the answers. but it wasn’t enough for me, i wanted to know. so, he showed me. and then… it was just normal.”

“But..” His brows knitted together in confusion as Sora try and reassure him that the act was entirely her idea which the boy wasn’t entirely sure that it was. Her nature was purely curious of humans and he wouldn’t be surprised if someone was to take advantage of his dear friend. His sighed sitting back on the bed unable to shake this feeling of unsure. “He should of asked before showing you..” He muttered still feeling a little bitter. He then glanced down with a thought. He’d never been curious about this kinda thing before and he’d never really wanted it until recently. He was scared of this new body. He didn’t understand it’s feelings or desires. Part of knowing that left him embarrassed. “Sora..” His eyes looked back into hers feeling safe as he always did with her. “Is it possible you could teach me? Like teach me about the sex or what ever this is humans do?”

It was chilly for a mid-April night, Suyeoung thought as he walked along the sidewalk with a bag of groceries and hurried on his way home. He’s hoped he’d gotten everything on the list that Kira and Kita’s mother wanted. Lord knows how long he was standing in each isle with a perplexed look on his face lost at what each item he should grab. Part of him wished he let Kira go with him but he wanted to prove he was capable of doing something on his own and that he wasn’t a guppy on land anymore. It was nearly closing time before he left feeling a little anxious. 

Night time was very different on land that was for sure. He didn’t like the way shadows made thing appear to be more eerie. His steps quickened not realizing the billfold dropping out of his pocket until he heard something hit the concrete behind him. As the boy turned to look it was already too late. A man had already started off with his money making Su’s heart race with panic. “Hey wait! Stop please don’t do that!” He shouted chasing after the man pleading for him to stop for him, but the groceries in his hands were weighing him down. If only he had a friend there to help him.

“–Oh, I’m merely stating the truth. I give you my word and I hope we can arrange a picnic before our dinner, so that you can get to know her better?”

She offered, still with a smile that grows over the blush that spreads across his features. Sure, she never realized about how much she had missed talking to him until this moment. Hence his presence, Lyra missed seeing his honest and genuine reaction over things that she said.

“–Now, now.. Will you tell me more about your roommate? She sounds incredibly nice..”

“A picnic? It that one of those events where you sit outside and eat?” Su blinked as he recalled Kira mentioning have one of those with him and her friends Oliver and Asher once. “Oh Kira! Gladly!” He smiled not knowing it spread wider when he mentioned her name. “She’s kinda like you really sweet and kind. She offered me her home when I had no place to go. I’m very grateful her and her mother allow me to stay with them.” He found his side leaning into hers as he continued speaking. “She is a really great friend. Honestly I don’t think I could’ve met anyone sweeter. I should tell you she does this things like taking me to the aquarium or to go swimming to help me not miss home so much.”

kira grinned and let out a little chuckle. “it means to like, clean it. so diseases and stuff doesn’t get anyone else sick.” she tried to explain, but she was certainly no expert. “i’m glad you like it.” she was beaming a wide smile to her friend. she was happy to make him feel more at home. she knew that there was nothing to really do to actually soothe the void that his home left, but she was glad she could at least help. “i’m very glad i made a friend in you too.” she felt her cheeks burn at their closeness before she threw on another smile and dipped below the surface to come up a couple feet away from him. “would you judge me terribly if i admitted that don’t quite know how to swim? i honestly kinda just doggy paddle around and try to make it work.”

If he was being a little honest Su was a little disappointed that he couldn’t open his eyes under water like he normally could. Though he quickly over looked that fact since Kira put all this thought into taking him here and risking the trouble of breaking and entering just to make him happy. All he could do was smile happily at her comment and let out a laugh as he noticed her cheeks change to a slight shade of pink. For some reason he could start to feel his burn to at the sight of her. “Judge you? Now why on earth would I do that? Would you judge me if I told you I didn’t know how to walk on my legs when I first got them?” He laughed at the sight of her doggy paddling. “What you’re doing is interesting...” He flicked his tail and swam back over towards her. “Would you like me to teach you? How to swim like a fish rather than like a dog?”
