[YOU HAVE TIME FOR MANY LIVES]
11/12/2014 11:46:26 I decided what I was going to be when I grew up at the age of thirteen and never questioned it again. Not until I graduated with my art degree in hand, praised by my peers, friends and family for pursuing my hearts' goal.
All my friends are in the same profession and I no longer want it, but now I feel like I don't have any information on this ""new me"" to share socially. I am a perfectly blank page.

On a related note, readers are encouraged to create their own seasonal calendars, holidays, and observances based on your local biome and personal preferences. Enjoy!

Dionysos is a god of balance...
balance as in embracing both extremes instead of taking the middleground
balance as in placing two equally massive objects on a scale so that it sits evenly as though there was no weight at all
balance as in two vibrant complimentary colors, not the neutral they make when combined
balance as in letting out a primal scream after containing yourself all day
balance as in an unstoppable force and an immovable object
balance as in two tectonic plates compromising with a mountain range
balance as in going through your emotions instead of around them
balance as in constructing moderation out of its own absence

a lot of emphasis is placed on discerning whether or not certain events are really “signs” from the gods or not, and that’s absolutely important, but it’s also okay to just see the divine in things. whether something is really directed at your or not, the gods are everywhere. that thunderstorm may not have been personally sent from zeus to you, but that doesn’t mean that it wasn’t him at all. i see sparrows all the time not because of some divine portent but because they live all over my neighborhood, but they always remind me of aphrodite. seeing the divine in the everyday is a beautiful thing.

I worry about fledgling pagans/heathens...there’s just so much misinformation out there. When someone asks me how they can learn more and mentions an “initiation” their friend undertook, I just find myself a bit unsettled...I hope they’re not mingling with folk who expect unreasonable devotion or participation in potentially harmful? rituals. Be safe, everyone. Don’t get carried away by an appealing or romanticizing aesthetic. Question folk, seek their sources (if they even have any), and learn their background, if you can. Wander wisely and be wary.
Generally speaking;
If someone ever claims that they are the only way you can get good knowledge and learn, run like hell, baby heathens.
If they ever claim that you have to go through some sort of specific initiation or somewhat that only they can give, run like HELL.
