Addison nodded glancing slightly at the dark-haired male before following them back into the hospital. There was so much the redhead wanted to say, so much she wanted to do even but she knew that would draw too much attention to the pair. She just shook her head as she spoke quietly, “I’m so glad that you’re both okay. Here, I have a room cleared for you guys already. This way.”

Derek looked at them both. “I don’t need a room. I am fine. And I don’t need a full body scan. I wasn’t as hurt as some of the people on that ferry boat.” Derek told them both, seeing the worry.

“I insist. It’s getting done.” She said looking over at Addison. “I think we can take it from here, Addison. Thank you.”

“She’s… losing it?” she asked. “That is kind of your fault, yeah. Work is important, but so are your kids,” she told her. Nerissa frowned. “I’ll talk to her, don’t worry. If anything is really wrong, I’ll get it out of her.”

“It’s like...she’s empty.” Meredith said sighing. “I know, I know. I got extremely carried away.” She smiled as she kissed her daughter’s forehead. “You don’t have to tell me details unless it’s drastic. I just want to know she’s okay.”

Nerissa looked at her mother and nodded. “Of course. I wouldn’t think of doing anything less. I’m sure I missed a lot while I was gone, and I’m going to make sure she’s alright.”

Mer sighed. “She’s just...she’s losing it. I mean I guess it’s my fault since I just got so knee deep into work, but...I’m actually worried that there’s something wrong.”

“Is there a problem?”

Meredith smiled as she sat next to her. “Now that you’re back, can you keep an eye on Ellis? I am...really, really worried about her.”

“Thank goodness. I saw the damage other people suffered, I’m so relieved that he didn’t end up like that.. Alright, good. I’m glad.”

“Yeah...can I ask you something?”

nerissashepherd:

“Hurt how? The rest of the family is okay, right?”

“He just has a few bruises...we’re waiting for scans to come back though, but from what it looks, he’s very lucky. Yes. Everyone else is fine.”

You smell a love triangle? Where in the FUCK have you been, grey face?! They’ve been a love traingle once before. And as the saying goes: once a love triangle, always a love triangle. Not sure if that’s a saying or if I’ve just made it up, but you get the gist. All I’m saying is that when you love someone enough to marry them and vow to spend the rest of your life with ‘em, and even give them a chance after they’ve cheated on you— those feelings don’t die easy. Not to mention, Meredith’s been super into work lately from the looks of it, poor DerBear’s gotta find someone to give him love. And since Addison is no longer seeing THEIR CHILD, she’s available. Y’know how history just looooves repeating itself!

Someone else finally saying what I’ve been blabbering about since all of that mess began! IT’S ABSOLUTELY FUCKED UP AND THOSE SICKOS MUST KNOW JUST HOW FUCKED UP IT IS.

And not even just that it’s fucked up only on Derek and Addison’s part, like HOW DO ANY OF THEM LOOK AT EACH OTHER?! IS FAMILY DINNER NOT PAINFULLY AWKWARD? How does Meredith pass Ellis the salt knowing that Ellis screwed her husband’s ex wife?? How does Derek look at his wife and daughter knowing that he’s doing something with the woman who nearly tore MerDer apart when they first began, and knowing that his daughter was absolutely in love with her?! How does Addison feel knowing she’s home-wrecking an ENTIRE FAMILY??!

I can’t handle it. It’s too much. I may have to blacklist this topic before my brain fucking combusts.

Meredith’s voice pulled the redhead out of her thoughts as she looked at her with this feeling of worry and mostly guilt. She fixed her face quickly and shook her head, “I was down in the ER when I heard that someone was coming in over the radio and I was just seeing where I could help.” Thank goodness for her quick thinking. She looked at the younger woman, “Are you okay? Were you injured too?”

Derek shook his head as he heard Addison ask if she was injured too. “No. She was there with the ones that came from here to help.” He told her. Derek looked at his wife. “You didn’t get hurt did you?” He asked. He moved a bit on the bed he was on but he was feeling sore from the bruises he had. He shouldn’t complain though. There were others with worse injuries.

“No, no, I’m fine.” She said as she helped him get off the rig and into the hospital. “Page anyone from trauma, I want a full body scan.” She spat at one of the interns.
