“Darling, I take you out to one romantic dinner and now I have to bribe the cops with my name alone to stop you from getting arrested. Really, you could stand to be just the bit more gentle when it comes to your jealousy.”
Jack wasn’t all too surprised. A date with Dyris is both adventurous and a rarity. He ought not to complain but it is so surprising to see her react when other women flirt with him. He is the same when others flirt with her, so he’s more or less a hypocrite for scolding her.
The night is still young despite the little mishap. A small chill is felt through the air and Jack’s first incentive is to take off his jacket and wrap it around Dyris– though would she really appreciate the chivalry?
“Don’t worry,” he attempts to reassure her. “There are many places we can still go that you may meet the food before they kill it.”
“Don’t flatter yourself,” It was nippy outside, but Dyris was far too hot under the collar to notice. Her blood raged and boiled under her skin--in more offense, than anything. She was taken aback by the pure audacity of it all. Dyris had few things that she chose to stake a claim to, but when she did, it was firm. Unwavering. To think that someone had the nerve to simply waltz into her territory with a red smile was beyond her. It felt like she was in the ocean again--territorial, baring her teeth, defending her keep.
She wasn’t even worth the effort. Indeed, when Dyris had sunk her teeth into the tender flesh of the woman’s cheek, it was... unappetizing. Caked with too much makeup, it was powdery, chalky--but overall, it was just off. Dyris preferred the taste of the male species. And their screams tended not to be so shrill, as to hurt her sensitive ears.
Women. Tch.
Mouth still tainted with the taste of rust, Dyris leaned her face into his shoulder, upturned nose furrowing into his neck, “It’s lost it’s charm. Let’s get sushi and champagne and watch Jaws. It puts me in the mood,” At least then all the attention would be on her.
