With the eruption of light filling the small clearing, James’ master plan to sneak up on the witch was foiled and he was left crouching down in a nearby bush completely at a loss of what to do next. This didn’t happen often. So, he did what any rational person would do and burst through the leaves – scratching himself with the twigs in the process – and threw his hands up choosing to go through with it anyway. “Boo!” Well, it hadn’t been quite what he was going for, but it would do. After a moment, he spoke again. “You know, you could care to be a bit less paranoid – I had a whole plan for the big reveal.” He said, plopping, a little less than gracefully, onto the floor beside her.
The brunette would have been lying if she said the rustling of the leaves didn’t unnerve her but she could honestly say that the male jumping out on her didn’t scare her, in fact, she actually laughed. “That was terrible James. You need to work on your stealth. I’m scoring that a measly two out of ten.” She told him shaking her head with a smile. “Well, I am sorry. Next time I’ll try to be more oblivious to my surroundings and then when I’m murdered by some maniac, well, it will all be your fault.” Mary stated smirking at her friend as he sat down next to her.
