You know it's a special kind of horrifying to see people get away with storming the capitol of your country from another courty. Months ago I saw peaceful protesters gased and shot at on TV. People who had done nothing wrong but the cheeto wanted to pose in front of a church so let's go! And now that same coward tells people to assault the capitol building and goes to hide in the white house. It's the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen and I'm seeing it from Australia.

I feel you so much! I don’t like many things about Russia myself as it is country with many problems and I think that out government is the worst kind of government. But to hate the whole country with no reason, only just because, to hate its culture and people (141 million! Not just Putin and some other guys that they usually hear about in the news, 141 million - are all these people damn idiots, homophobes, unfair and stupid??! Every one of them?) is the most ridiculous thing a human can do. Russia has great history and its cultural heritage is awesome but people choose to forget that part.
I understand stereotypes and all that but if you are a grown-up person you have to train your critical eye because you just can’t believe everything you hear. And I’m sick of people who think that because of some bad shit they can hate on everyone and who take their frustrations on someone who is not guilty!
- About Sotnikova - people forget that she’s 17 year old girl who DID GREAT, AWESOME and BRILLIANT job and they think that somehow she managed to cheat (yeeeah, she gave herself high scores or what? IDEK. Oh, maybe she made Yuna Kim to make her program less difficult with less difficult elements! Wow, how did Adelina manage to do that, I wonder?? Is it magic?). They send her hate on Facebook and Twitter! WTF it wrong with these people?! I’m so fucking done with them because she’s just a girl and she has nothing to do with judging system and even if they think that judging was unfair she still won because of her elements! So fuck people who send her hate (because, REALLY NOW?) for those who hate her but doesn’t write her about it - guys, really, this is life and this is the new judging system, they counted her elements and she got all her high points because of it. Yuna was damn beautiful but her elements were less complicated - that’s all.

You are my hero. I’m a huge fan of Evgeni and to hear and see all these negative things people are saying about him really hurts. He’s an incredible person who deserves respect for all he’s done and for the shear level of determination he possesses. He skated and won gold for his country and to hear all the backlash from America (as an American) is utter bullshit!! We don’t do that to our athletes so what gives us the right to do it to another countries? Any athlete with the courage to represent their county on this grand of a scale deserves respect and Evgeni has done it four times ALWAYS medalling. So thank you ^^
No, thank you for all the kind words! I agree, it’s so hard to read all the hate because it’s either illogical or just ridiculous and petty. And for me Evgeni will always deserve all the respect he can get. Especially in the light of the latest news of his upcoming surgery and the fact that it’s possible that he won’t ever skate again I don’t find myself able to read and hear any more hate on him!
It is! It’s completely insane the things that people are saying about him. I’m just glad that other skaters are standing up and supporting him. I can’t even think about his surgery, i get so worried. The idea that he might never skate again is scary but surgery in and of itself is scary. I just hope it goes well. I just want people to grow up and leave him alone…just leave all the athletes alone. They’re doing what they were sent to the olympics to do and all the petty crap needs to end. People are real mature ganging up on an injured hero who gave his body for a sport he loves and a 17 year old who skated her heart out. Nobody is giving Yuzuru Hanyu this much crap! Just because Sotnikova is from Russia people suddenly have a problem. It makes me disappointed and ashamed to be an American when my country acts like this
I have watched a ton of videos of Plushy skating and after I saw this I wanted to cry and scream because of the passion that he put into this performance. He has some incredible and funny skates but this...left me speechless.
