Parents: Rock Lee (adopted)

Background: Metal was too young to remember being adopted, but the anxiety obtained from the orphanage never went away. Lee supports him and tries to help when possible.

He’s a talented ninja, even if he’s extremely shy and nervous.

But I guess you are right... But I still do not really get it. What would you, um, actually do if a rogue ninja appeared?”

“Kill ‘em, obviously!”

“I... I do not know what I expected...”

“Don’t knock it if you haven’t tried it.”

“I am sorry, Shikadai, but- I prefer to not kill anyone unless it is necessary! Maybe then, I will enjoy it but... probably not.”

“So you’re saying you’d enjoy it... hey, Metal, let’s do a mission together..”

"I– I said maybe!

And, uh, that... I think that would be nice. But I will not kill anyone!"

“Let’s head off to get one, then.. My dad heads all this stuff, so I bet I can get him to give us something good.”

“That sound good for me! Let’s have fun!”

[The two boys get their assignment and head off.]

“Come on! I’ve already got an idea of where the rogues will be.”

Metal quickly grabbed some shurikens, following his friend close by.

“I am ready for anything! Lead the way, Shikadai!

Shikadai led Metal through the forest. He suddenly slowed.  “Someone’s close by here.. we should set some traps.”

Metal slowed down as Shikadai did so, silently observing the area around them in search for clues. ”... yes, something feels odd,” he mumbled, looking around for places to put traps in. He had his shuriken- using some explosive tags and his weapons probably wouldn’t be enough, but Metal still tried.

Shikadai assisted using the wire string he had brought along. 

“Alright, let’s hide!”

Metal went to hide with Shikadai, not letting go of his fighting stance. Anything could happen now- the rogues could see their trap, or see them.

He was starting to get anxious- but it wasn’t like he had never fought before.

“Any moment now...” Metal mumbled, more to himself than to be heard.

"Shikadai... I wonder, why do you think killing is- why do you think that is fun? It is a bit... strange."

As soon as Metal realized how loudhis voice was, he blushed, looking at his hands. It took him some seconds to continue talking.

"I- I have been looking for you," he mumbled, finally looking at Kakashi in the eyes.

Hearing someone calling out his name, Kakashi turned his head and waved when he spotted Metal standing there behind him. "Hello," he smiled fondly. "Free from training with your team already?"

It wasn't too surprising. These days were more peaceful than when Kakashi was a kid, or even when he was a Jonin Sensei. Kids didn't need to train as much, though he'd never blame a Sensei for working their students a little bit harder.

“Yes! Udon said we need to rest,” he replied, letting out a soft smile. “But I will probably train a bit more with Papa! I want to get strong like him!”

Metal’s eyes sparkled; even after training with his teacher, he still had energy to go on and train with his dad. But that could wait for a bit.

“Ah- um, before I forget... I have a friend that wants to meet you! He really admires you,” Metal said, placing a hand on top of his chest. “So... I was wondering, would you like to meet him? He- he would get really happy.”
