Setting the record straight
Hi all, This is a brief message to all crewe foxes followers, i would just like to say yes we did break up but that was because i was getting really depressed, i am happier now and it wasnt crewe foxes fault it was the situation i was in which could not be made better, I care very much for him still he will always be my best friend, however our paths had to go different directions I hope people can understand that. Just for my own piece of mind i have put that on here. Thanx.

Heidevolk gig review supported by Sellsword and Old Corpse Road at the Snooty Fox Wakefield.
As far as gig goes, it seemed to be a rocky start due to the fact there wasn't any power, and yet there was no sense of emergency or panic. the organisers, band members and crew all seem to just deal with it, and eventually got everything back online, meaning however sets had to be cut short, but as I didn’t get to see Sell Sword on this occasion I can’t really say it was that noticeable.
The venue the Snooty Fox located in Wakefield, was your typical grungy underground 2 floor hole in the wall that catered for the alternative, friendly with a homely feeling to it. A first for me at this venue, not my favourite but by no means the worse place I had gone to, the winner for the worst venue so far might still be the sugar mill in Stoke-un-Trent, even though it was a small intermit venue it didn’t hold a lasting impression. Also, it just seemed too small to host Amon Amarth in, and there wasn’t any movement on the floor due to the fact your feet were stuck due to the vast stickiness.
Old corpse Road were the first bad I saw, and even though initially we didn’t know if we would make it in time to catch them, I am glad we did as they were a class act and great one to start the show with. Technically it was Sell Sword who opened the evenings events, however having seen them previously and reviewing them I think you can let me off for not watching them…this time! OCR really created the atmosphere and the anticipation needed for Heidevolk to play, there have been occasions where I have gone to a gig and the band either were not really suited to play, or they were very boring, not Old Corpse Road, admittedly I knew I might Have missed them and it wasn’t a concern at the time, let’s just say this gig I think I was very wrong, and I am happy to revisit this band and see how they are since the last time I watched them, which was in Blackwood gathering. Fantastic start to an exciting night!
Heidevolk completely and utterly knocked me off the dance floor which is achievement as I’m pretty sure I was the one doing the knocking, in other words I didn’t stop moving, jumping flailing, skipping, bending, headbanging and so on a so forth. (kinda felt sorry for the people I kept knocking into) But this shows a great gig, normally I would just bob my head and head bag swaying from side to side, but not this one, I was a loon on the floor and utterly loved it. Which in turn go other people’s attention and they seemed to be a lot of people moving! I can honestly say there wasn’t a negative watching them, they had the right kind of energy, enthusiasm and charm that that they did the last time I saw them, if not more this time. Having seen them at a folk metal festival last year known as Ragnard ROCK Festival, which was a different a experience, this time it was their own gig which meant obviously a longer set and more interaction with the fans and there were fewer. Neither experience can I say I didn’t enjoy and if no when they tour again I will be taking the time to catch their show. Speaking to the band later that night, I defiantly found them to be a very pleasant passionate bunch of individuals, they clearly loved what they were doing and it came across with everything they had said, especially knowing that this one there 15 year being in this band. However, it is only the drummer who has lasted exactly that amount of time but yet that doesn’t really matter as they still resonate the needed passion and desire to continue portrait in their words and music. Did also sneakily introduce that fact that needed to play at the Viking/metal festival known as Midgardsblot sometime also! Overall atmosphere and moral was fantastic, so many people getting involved in the external flailing and head bopping. There was plenty of movement, I cannot say that anyone looked bored or moody, those who did move got involved with others and they wasn’t anything dangerous or aggressive about it, it was just pure enjoyment. So, to sum up this gig was a reminder that summer is on its way and that there are plenty of joys music and events to be had.
and with that Metal Pixie out!
