“they’re not in there.” it was not the first, and certainly not the last, time that prea had come across lin beifong, chief of police in republic city. prea had always made it a priority to have an escape plan in place. lin was reasonable to an extent - unlike the rest of the force who prea had little qualms about knocking out if they got in her way. face shrouded by mask and hood, there’s no hesitation she feels stepping into the light. “letter was a hoax.”

BY NOW, LIN HAD LEARNED TO STOP ASKING HOW PREA CAME ABOUT HER information. She seemed to know as much as half of her staff and was just as talented, which is why Lin never bothered trying to arrest her. Though many would judge her decision if they were privy to the knowledge, Lin didn’t care. She herself was willing to work outside the law when and if it was necessary. “Figures,” she grunted, as the woman stepped into view. “The whole trail was probably a hoax; this place was never used as a hideout, was it?” she asked, more to herself than to Prea.
