“YAYAYAYA!!!” They had no clue what the heck Red was even consuming. As far as they knew, it was merely human candy. No one had ever fed a pokeblock to Diduo before. Either way, the fact that Red was having some was the sole reason they wanted some for themselves in the first place.

He makes a face after they’re done speaking. What a curious individual he’s found in Diduo. Ohhh, they’re a DITTO! He gets it now! A Ditto trying to be a person! Well, he’s never heard of such a thing, but there’s no real reason not to let them be. After all, it’s not like this is identity theft, or trying to cover something up. Just someone trying to be someone.

“Well! It’s nice to meet you, Diduo!” He lets out a small laugh - his sisters would love this. He motions out the container of cupcakes. “Here, you can have as many as you want. I’m Takahiro! Takahiro Takahashi. I make sure people are safe in the swamps, and that Pokemon are safe too. That’s my job. I’m a person, too! But I don’t like money. Where do you live, Diduo? Do you have a family? Or are you out here on your own?”

As many as they want?

Their eyes widen like saucers, and they take another cupcake excitedly with barely any self-restraint. They ate it just like they did the other one, and continued to reach for the container to wipe out the rest.

“Swampsh? Like da’ muddy placesh?” They say in between mouthfuls. “Oooh, you proteckt peoples and pokemons! Tha’s why your’ soooo niesh!”

“I twavel everywhere, so no hom! An’ mom an’ dab don’ wan’ me, but I only hava’ cooool twiiiin brofther! And lotsh of pokemom friendsh!”

Stopping to wipe crumbs with their sleeves- “Heyyy, Mishter Tagkahiro- do you not like moneys because you can makesh the foods by yourself? Do you makesh foods for you famnily? Can I haves your moneys then? I camn’t cooks, fires ish scarey.”

“HOW DID YOU..?!” He stares, completely awe-struck by this act of inhuman ability. He’d seen some inhuman stuff done by humans, but this was… Impossible. Completely and utterly impossible. His brain was reeling as it tried to make sense of the circumstances before him.

Not only did they basically turn into a human blob but they reformed right back to how they were before. It was basically silent, and there seemed like there was nothing done to keep any sort of regular form. This was so far above his pay grade.

…Wait.

He took a deep breath to ease his nerves, before holding up a finger and running inside. Then he returned a minute later with a small plastic tray of cupcakes. All chocolate.

“Here. I… Here. Take one of these. Tell me how you did that. Who… What are you?”

Their concern continued to run strong, until it turned into confusion which turned into oh, for Diduo? They have to consciously remind themselves to take one, and they gingerly pluck one without any suspicions whatsoever.

“M-mm, I like chogclate! Shank you!” They open their mouth and pop in the top of the cupcake, chomping it off in one bite. Afterwards, while chewing, they unwrap the bottom half of the cupcake and pretty much inhale it. Cupcake gone in 2 mouthfuls.

“I’m Diduo! D I D U O, NOT DITTO! Lotsh people think ish Ditto, but ish not. Iam Pokemon trainer! I’m a coooool human kid who like to battle pokemons! I like money, food and pokemons!” They list this introduction off as if it was completely muscle memory. “I like chocklate cupcakesh too, yum yum. Whassyour name, mishter?”

“B-buh...” Loud sniffing subsequently took place, and the POKEMON TRAINER resorted to wiping their eyes with their sleeves. Crying was extremely uncomfortable and irritating due to it messing with the precise water amount they had to maintain at all times; but in times of true sadness and distress such as this, they couldn’t help it.

“Why can’t...?” Diduo’s trainer career hadn’t been for that long, and having their entire party wiped out came to them as a shock as they’d managed to simply skirt by with potions up until now. They’d manage to call for medical assistance in the form of a nurse out into the wild, but it would seem like they were at some sort of a stalemate...

Diduo’s pokemon weren’t technically “caught.” They didn’t have pokeballs. So... how were they supposed to get revived!? That was the dilemma that Nurse Joy had explained to the young trainer, explaining that using Revives as substitutes could come out to a steep price as opposed to a free, insured heal (not like Diduo had insurance anyway;) but the fact of the matter was that as soon as the nurse brought up the “can’t revive” part, the trainer became extremely flustered. And scared.

He recovers from the position as the other goes to, well, he assumes try to do the same thing. He rises to his feet as they basically slumped right in half. His first reaction was a gasp, then a bolt over to see if they need help.

“A-Are you okay?! Oh my Arceus, I–” The lack of sound didn’t completely register with him, he was far more concerned for the collapse in on themself, as he hesitantly went to help them up. “That’s not right I- Oh my… My Arceus, I…”

He was stuck in a loop of shock.

Unbending at the man’s sudden shock, they revert back to their previous posture and reached out for his help. They were a bit befuddled by his sudden panic.

“...Why?”

Not right?

“Oh... Did I do somethim’ bad...?” It took a while to register, but they began to realize that they could’ve done something terribly unhumanlike in their excitement. They pull at their sleeves, a bit unadjusted to being pensive.

“Um.... shorry. Am okay, okay? Look,” They wiggle their arms and sides like a noodle- seemingly with all bones intact, unbeknownst to the older stranger of their lack of them in the first place. “Okay...?” A little frown grows upon their face as they wait to gauge the stranger’s reaction.

“I mean, there’s not a whole lot more on the extreme like that.” He rubs his cheek. “Oh! I know, hold on.”

He rests his chin on the ground and bends his legs around so he forms a sort-of circle, holding his ankles with his hands.

STRANGER used BEND, and it was SUPER EFFECTIVE!!

Diduo has to reel for a bit- regardless of how impressive or unimpressive the move was objectively; it hit the POKEMON TRAINER like a pile of bricks and left them awestruck. After some seconds of amazed gaping, they lie face-first on the ground and bend themselves completely backwards so that the back of their head touched the back of their heels. There was absolutely no crunch or crack in spite of the fact that, theoretically, they were snapping their spine.
