trying to dissect why the hell marie would be in the new league of nine (for my fanfic of course). full spoilers for all of limbus i am pulling no punches for this. (PLEASE KEEP IN MIND THIS IS MY OWN INTERPRETATION OF MARIE CARDONA BASED ON THE BOOK AND KJH COULD PULL A WHOLE 180 ON MY ASS. YOU ARE ALSO FREE TO DISAGREE WITH ME)

we remember mirror worlds yes? we remember how nelly crashed the fuck out about the mirror worlds yes? good great yes i almost forgot before i checked the wiki page on her lmao. anyway!! i don't really think marie would have that same motivation of realising she'd be stuck somewhere forever if she didn't take action (and honestly if meursault had not left i don't think she would have ever joined the new league). to me, marie reads as a person very content to live her life how she's known it. if anything she'd try to help destroy the mirror worlds (though i don't have much evidence for this unless i go into uber speculation mode).

at this point i must diverge to ask "why would the new league recruit marie?" and i'm going to have to ask you to Bro Just Trust Me right now i'm about to spew a lot of insane bullshit. i do wonder who the new one who nails is (WINK WINK NUDGE NUDGE I'LL GET INTO IT LATER). anyway the most plausible reason to me without just making stuff up is that the new league would bring on marie some time after meeting the lcb. i mean ahab DEFINITELY wasn't part of the new league before the lcb blasted the pallid whale she was trying to kill that fucking whale. now that i think about it if projmoon decides to be really fucking cool they could make the place where marie works a fixer office but she'd more likely be working at the grand magasin sisyphe in a high enough role to meet meursault instead. if she was working high prior she'd definitely be useful to the new league then. but we'll look at different avenues yes?

i could definitely see marie being adapted into the kind of person who could easily get information of whatever the new league wants (she did work as a typist in letranger after all. i don't think it's unlikely projmoon would amp it up). nelly's also gathering information yes but we must remember that nelly's focus is the lcb and that she kicks MAJOR ass. i see marie with the league of nine digging up whatever the fuckOh shit this ties into the new league post i made the other day about. oh my god ANYWAY. if hermann is intentionally gathering people connected to the limbus company bus department (and the old league of nine) then marie being on board makes a lot of sense man. points at ahab like there's no normal reason for that
