HOW IT WORKS: If you want to go to an extra signing at VidCon, you can enter to win the HGTV Hall Pass. The HGTV Hall Pass is essentially a second chance for attendees to choose a creator they want to meet. Because the lottery doesn’t guarantee an attendee will meet their top choice creators, the HGTV Hall Pass puts the power back in attendees’ hands and allows them to go to an additional signing of their choice. All you need to do to enter is post a photo on Instagram using the hashtag #hgtvhallpass. You may post as many photos as you’d like to enter multiple times and have a greater chance at winning. There is no pre-entry- it all happens on site at VidCon. 20 random winners will be chosen a day before their winning session happens. For example: Wednesday afternoon we will randomly select and meet the 20 winners who can choose from any of the signings on Thursday. Thursday we will randomly select and meet 20 winners for Friday, and Friday we will randomly select and meet the 20 winners for Saturday. The collecting of #HGTVHallPass hashtags starts at 7am Pacific Time on Wednesday, July 22nd, and ends at 7am Pacific Time on Friday, July 24th. Pre-entry (before 7am on 7/22/15) will not be counted. You must have a VidCon pass to be eligible and be 14 years old or older. We will use Engageed Sciences to pull the hashtag from Instagram, and Random.org to generate which 20 people are the winners. Once you win a Hall Pass, you cannot win a second Hall Pass. What’s the fun HGTV Hall Pass ticket in the video? The HGTV Handmade ticket is simply a takeaway and a fun memory of your Hall Pass win. It does not supply you with entry into the signing hall or anywhere else at VidCon. Members of the HGTV team will meet the randomly selected winners at a designated time in front of VidCon registration. We will allow a 30 minutes block of time for the HGTV Hall Pass winners to come make their winning selection. If they do not meet us during that specific time, they will not be allowed to try and claim their winning at any other time during the show. Employees of the following companies are not eligible to win: VidCon, YouTube, HGTV, and HGTV Handmade. VidCon reserves the right to impose capacity controls for each creator and signing hall session.
