    an unforgotten face comes into view. one he has laid his eyes on before as a distant memory swiftly compiles within his thoughts of a night at a masquerade, and a conversation. a challenge of flattery and unfaithfulness though, he recalls that he initiated it. the lady couldn’t be at fault, oh no, but for the rest of the night a sense of intrigue and curiosity had settled within. chance glances, and loyal reminders. he was a soldier, and she was a queen with a king at her side, and a forbidden affair at the other.

    he isn’t so ruthless as general to produce more trouble. but she had been beautiful, as queens often were. though unlike previous monarchs, eclipsa the first had an eye for change and a mind far beyond the generation she lived in. even with the mask he wore he had a notion that she knew who he had been beneath it all those centuries ago. despite inequity, a war between mewmans and monsters hadn’t began yet and what a privilege it was to live at such a time. things had been a lot simpler back then. now, as he looks her in the eyes and smirks he bows. dismiss infatuation; that feeling remains in the ruins of what could have been centuries ago.

¦♠¦ A night of mystery, a night of side glances and unspoken words, a night of a wonderful dance between her and that mysterious masked man.

Or should she say... monster.

300 years hadn’t tarnished that night, and despite them not wearing masks she knew who he was. The bow was met with a curtsy, which was not the proper way to greet someone ‘below’ her station. It was, however, the proper way to greet one’s dance partner before and after a dance.

“A little this, a little that. And my freedom, of course.” Eclipsa was rather proud of the fact that her descendents were at least that clever, if not a little irratated that one of them hadn’t freed her as promised. But a deal between two Queens was very, very potent magic indeed. “So, that little old spell of mine was meant for you? It was supposed to go for your heart, you know.”

Not that she was complaining. 300 years meant that her husband was dead as dust by this point after all.

I love the Toffee-is-Eclipsa’s-son dynamic all well and fine, but Eclipsa has an army of sons at this point. Which is awesome, but since canon hasn’t specified any sort of relationship (heck it could be like with Moon and Toffee not knowing each other at all until the finger thing happened), I am totally open and down for other types of relationship. Yes even romantic, because oh no that monster aesthetic.

Speaking of romantic I need it. Okay well not like ‘need’ it but more like ‘Eclipsa has been trapped in a crystal for 300 years so her husband is most likely dead so how about some dating’. Gimme some romantic ships yes please.

Give her a big buff monster to hold hands with, or like any monster really. The more monstrous the better.
