With both happiness and sadness our journey came to an end, as we the tired travellers awaited our plane back to Australia.
Leaving Akaroa and heading towards our airport accommodations in Christchurch for the evening we took in some of our final scenery for the journey.
Street shots from the beautiful little NZ French settlement of Akaroa
A few road shots from Lyttelton to Akaroa
Day 20, our final exploration day, saw us exploring Lyttelton and Akaroa.
These are a few street shots from Lyttelton
A few shots of Christchurch by night
The beautiful Christchurch gardens
We absolutely adored wandering around the Arts precinct of Christchurch, and would love to return to explore it in more depth.
Christchurch wanders Part 2
Day 19 saw us leaving Lake Tekapo and heading to the final stop of our journey, Christchurch. These sets aim to show the various states of Christchurch post the tragic earth quakes of a few years ago and just how far the city has come on its journey of rebuild.
Some further shots of Lake Tekapo and the Church of the Good Shepherd
A few roadshots from around Mount John and Lake Tekapo
Being our anniversary, I thought it might be nice to upload a few portraits we took of each other while exploring Mount John
Day 18 saw us taking in views from Mount John and relaxing around Lake Tekapo. Today we celebrated our first wedding aniversary
When in a world class Dark Sky reserve, you really must take photos of the night sky. Wow!
We arrived in the mid afternoon at Lake Tekapo, and took the chance to enjoy sunset over the lake.
Day 17 saw us leaving Dunedin and heading in the direction of Lake Tekapo for a couple of nights. We stopped in at the Moeraki Boulders along our journey.
