We are a 25 year old system and created this blog as a way to express ourselves and interact with the did/osdd community. We may share our experiences or talk about heavy topics from time to time. We try to tag triggers where we can.

We never usually use our actual names here so you'll likely see random letters, words, or emojis used as sign-offs from time to time.

Stances

Endogenic systems and the syscourse around that:

We have a very firm stance in that regardless of if Endos exists or not, the aggression displayed on both sides is unwarranted. I believe many people who identify as endo likely have reasons for doing so and I dont believe people are typically doing it to "take" or "get attention". this isn't me saying we support endos, because we don't think enough evidence exists to show that one can be "plural" without trauma. We refuse to support bullying, harassment, death threats, etc.

We support all LGBTQ+ individuals! ND safe. Personality disorder safe. Trans safe. Nonbinary people are awesome and valid.

We are against generative AI. We believe that AI *could* be used to help progress with research, but it should never take the jobs of humans or steal other people's work. And it shouldn't be bad for the environment.

We encourage the idea that people shouldn't think in strict "this or that" or "right or wrong" and should also verify information they're learning. Remember that shifting through bias vs non-bias sources can be tricky.

If you have any questions about us, our stances, need advice, etc. feel free to send messages or asks! As long as you come to us from a respectful place, we're more than happy to talk about most things. If we don't want to talk about something, we'll just state that.

My dear lgbt+ kids, 

“Going to therapy doesn’t mean you are crazy!”, “Not only crazy people go to therapy!” - let’s talk about these phrases. 

They are true, in the sense that people do not only go to therapy when they experience symptoms of psychosis (like hearing voices or seeing something that does not exist outside of their mind). That’s because: 

1. You can be mentally ill and not experience any psychotic symptoms. Depression, anxiety disorder and eating disorders are just some examples for types of mental illness that (usually) do not include hallucinations but still require therapy. 

2. You can benefit from therapy even if you are not mentally ill. For example, you may talk to a therapist because you want to learn how to cope with grief after losing a loved one or want to know how to safely break-up with your abusive partner or want to figure out your gender identity… and so on! 

I do think that it’s important to talk about both of those points. We need to fight the myth that you need to be “sick enough” to see a therapist. And yet, with all that being said: I am not a fan of the phrases I mentioned above.

Going to therapy isn’t shameful, yes. But: being “crazy”, as in experiencing symptoms of psychosis, isn’t shameful either! We shouldn’t uplift people who go to therapy by shaming people with psychotic symptoms. 

So what if you do go to therapy because you are “crazy”?  Going to therapy because of that is also something we should normalize and support. Around 3% of people will experience a psychotic episode at some point in their life. In any 12-month period, around 1 in every 200 adults will experience a psychotic illness (Source). 

Psychosis, depression, grief or any other reason: Going to therapy is never a reason to be ashamed.

At one point we tried to explain to our mom what OSDD/DID was and that we have that, but she really didn't get it and we didn't bring it up again. She wasn't mean or cruel, we just didn't feel it was a good idea to bring it up again.

But now, my mom is finally starting to really deal with her childhood traumas (and eventually the adult traumas) and her therapist wants to try IFS (internal family systems) with her. She even sent her a book about it to help her understand it better.

I'm wondering if after she does IFS for a while, if that will be the foundational information she needed for us to talk to her about it again. At the same time, that probably wouldn't make us mask any less, and the information around why we have a dissociative disorder might amplify the guilt she feels around things we endured.

Although having DID is hard, it also means that for us, we never have to face the memories alone. Reliving them, navigating through them, surviving them. We do it together.

Our relationship with nature/the outdoors is so weird and complicated.

We were a very outdoorsy little kid who grew up rural. It was also an escape for us being on a large property when things were uncomfortable. We could just go run off acres away.

And then it felt like nature and the outdoors were a prison. A sign of our isolation and feeling trapped in tense situations.

And now..it's like suddenly we can use nature as our escape again. We can look at the trees and grass and scenery and actually feel like we're seeing it and taking it in.

It's like something was locked away, it's interesting.

Even if some of us are still in denial, we wouldn't want it any other way.

Don't think I need to say this but ofc some of us are more vivid and distinct than others, but really, so many of us are subtle in the way we present. We also didnt draw aaalll of us at the end, too lazy to draw all of us lmao. Way too many.

Learn to articulate how you're feeling without accusing anyone of having bad intentions. You can say "I'm afraid of being alone" without saying "you're just going to leave me like everyone else." You can say "I need some reassurance" without saying "you probably don't love me anymore." You can say "I'm afraid I've hurt your feelings and I'd like to talk it through" without saying "you don't even like me anymore." You can say "I want to spend more time with you" without saying "you've gotten tired of me." You can say "I feel misunderstood" without saying "you always judge me." Try not to let your emotions get the best of you. Have a conversation focused on finding solutions instead of escalating the conflict.

fellow systems please please please stop listing out all of your trauma and triggers for the entire internet to see!!! people can and will use it against you and try to purposefully trigger you! it is not safe! you do not have to prove your trauma to anybody!

This. For me I don't think this means that you can never talk about your traumas or experiences, but it's better if you try to omit things that are currently triggering for you.

Even if you remove the post(s) later, there's a chance that information could still be accessible to malicious people. Just be cautious and remember to take your mental and emotional health into account when posting things online 🩷
