Deniz akdeniz, 29, cismale, he/him, grimm| did you see the look on Aladdin Massoud’s face ? they know as well as anyone that a war is coming. i’ve heard they’re a chaotic good royal with a reputation for being rather - reckless, - obstinate as well as + selfless, + daring. no wonder they’re known as the streetrat. they hail from the kingdom of agrahbah and are a royal. i’ve heard that in the land without magic, their fable is called ALADDIN. let’s see how long they’ll last.

Sandy hand been trundling through the forest, minding his own business, when a shout and a snowball came flying at him out of no-where. It was disconcerting and surprising, mostly because there was no snow anywhere and it hit him on his bare arm, him being in a shorter sleeved top due to the heat. And lack of snow. Turning in confusion towards the source, his face broke into a grin when he saw who it was. ‘Jack ! ’ he signed happily.
Making his way over closer to the younger guardian, Sandy pulled him into a half hug, not wanting to be awkward but very happy to see him.
jack would never admit to melting into the small embrace he was given, but he couldn’t help it; sandy was one of the few guardians who jack actually enjoyed being near (north was too much of a hugger, even for jack). “yeah yeah, its nice to see you too,” he pulled away from the other man with a huge grin on his face, chuckling, “i’m surprised i ran into you!”
and well, that was the truth. ever since jack had heard rumors of pitch being back, he had chosen to stay closer to the shadows, only appearing when he needed to give people either fun or cold. he was assuming the rest of the guardians were doing the same--and he was pretty sure no one needed any sweet dreams in the middle of the forest. “how have you been?” he questioned politely, shoving those dark thoughts out of his head for the time being.
originalreqvim·:
❝ THERE’S A WITCHES COUNCIL of oz, each witch gets a section of the land, and glinda got a bit greedy. ❞ he explained, though it couldn’t be further from the truth. though, with the witch of the west practically on the outs and the death of the witch of the east, his narrative could certainly seem plausible. ❝ she’s called the good witch for a reason. she’s very good at making it seem as though she’s willing to help you, but she isn’t to be trusted. believe me, i’ve fallen into her trap myself. ❞ the words left a bitter taste in his tongue, memories of the love he once held for glinda bubbling to the surface, stinging his mind with thoughts he wished desperately to forget. ❝ i was scared she’d find you. she knew i planned on bring you here years ago, so i could finally meet you, but you were young then and i didn’t want to interfere with your life. i figured if she got to you first she’d spin some tale about me leaving you because i never cared. i guess i just didn’t want to lose you before i ever even got the chance to meet you. ❞ and maybe some ounce of his words were true. seeing her here, finally meeting her, he certainly felt a connection. he knew he’d do whatever it took to protect her and keep her safe, it’s what her mother would’ve wanted. some part of him also wanted to use her as a pawn. if something happened to him she was his insurance that there was another diggs on the emerald throne. besides, she had to be half mortal, half witch, right ? maybe there was some untapped potential within her, some power he could use. ❝ but most importantly i don’t know what will happen in this war, and if something happens to me i don’t want to go out not having met my daughter. ❞
his words at her features softening, the tension left in her shoulders all but disappearing. she didn’t know if she could trust him, not yet at least, but she knew she wanted to. she thought that maybe--just maybe--she was staring into the face of the man she longed for all her life. the father she had wanted to be close to, the father who would do what was best for her and protect her no matter what. she couldn’t care less about the throne or whatever power struggle he was going on about--those things weren’t real to her just yet. she had barely entered this world; she didn’t think she’d make a good ruler or leader or whatever he was telling her she was destined for. she did care, though, that he seemed to care about her. “oh,” she gave him a small smile, “that makes me feel...a bit better,” she gave a soft laugh, “sorry for throwing my shoe at you. that was...rude of me. It was just a lot to take in all at once, I guess.” she paused briefly, tilting her head, “but I am willing to help you, if that’s what you want. I wouldn’t want someone to take what’s rightfully yours.” and that was the honest truth. she felt a bit played, thinking glinda was a wonderful person, only to find out she was just trying to use her to get to oscar. might as well help her father keep what is his.
originalreqvim·:
HE KNEW what he was getting into when he came to her. she always had a price, and she always had a punishment for those who couldn’t keep up their end of the bargain. sometimes oz wished he were a more trustworthy man, maybe if he stopped lying through his teeth to every person he came across, she’d find reason to believe him. unfortunately, lying was his bread and butter, and he didn’t have any intentions of becoming a more truthful man anytime soon. if only his mother could see him now. he guessed she was right for ditching him in the land without magic, maybe if he’d stayed there he wouldn’t be getting himself into these messes. but he figured if she were still alive she’d be rather disappointed by the man he’d become, the son of one of oz’s most powerful witches losing his magic to glinda of all people, only to potentially lose it all again with one wrong move to ursula. ❝ fine. ❞ he agreed almost hesitantly. as he said, he was a man of his word. he shouldn’t have anything to worry about, right ?
“Perfect,” she purred out, holding the pen and scroll out to the man. she wasn’t exactly sure what she would do if she got his magic--on one hand, she could keep it for herself and become even more powerful. but she had tasted that power when she held tritons weapon in her hands; that much power, no one should have. so maybe she would sell off the magic to the highest bidder--yes, she could get a pretty penny for it. “Just sign right here, Oscar, and I’ll tell you how I think you could solve your little problem.” She knew helping oscar get his magic back was a risky move--she’d be making an enemy out of Glinda, after all. while they were opposed due to their allies, ursula didn’t actually have any bad blood with the good witch. oh well, she smirked as she wiggled the pen at him, there were better things then friends in the world, anyways.

Ah, this was where Wendy could offer to help her. It seemed that this girl was so terribly lost that she wouldn’t be able to find her way back to where she came from, but Wendy could possibly help get her home if she knew the location. And even if her lessons in geography fell short, a quick trip to a bookstore with maps of the realm would surely do the trick. “Where is home for you exactly? Are you from an island?”
“Oh, well...” now, if dorothy was smarter, she would lie. she would say that she was from oz, that she knew exactly where her home was. and really, she had lied to every other stranger who had asked her a similar question. but it had been so long since she had seen her actual home, since she had spoken the truth to anyone that the words came tumbling out of her mouth before she could stop them, “I’m from Kansas. Yeah it’s not...here, I guess. Um. See there was this tornado and I woke up in Oz but...where I’m from there’s no magic or kingdoms or anything like what’s around here.”
ofguardedcrowns·:
“you would think.” he scoffed, an amused smirk across his lips. “and yet i’ve been the villain in every story since time began.” hades shrugged, leaning forward to scratch cerberus’ middle head. “his name is cerberus. in your language that translates to spotted animal. apparently it is amusing that i, god of the underworld, named my dog spot.” his words were aimed more at his pet than the other, grinning softly at his companion. “you can stroke him, if you wish. he is nice to those who mean me no harm; so it depends where you sit on that front.”
jack perked up at the mans permission, rushing closer to pet the dog. “hi there cerberus! it’s nice to meet you,” a smile graced his lips as knelled down to be face to face with the dog. He paused briefly when the words of the other man finally registered, his eyes widening a bit as he looked up at him. “...you’re the god of the underworld? the Hades?” he blinked a few times, “i called the god of the underworld mean?”

It was a person that had knocked into him, seemingly out of– well, out of nowhere. Like he’d just been blown in on the wind. He seemed super polite about it, though. “Yep,” Charlie replied good-naturedly to the stranger’s original question. “And you’re welcome, for not moving. I’m super good at that. Thanks for knocking me over!” His words were entirely devoid of sarcasm. “Most exciting thing to happen all day.”
He squinted slightly as if that would help him get a better view of the new person, despite the stranger standing right in front of him. “What kind of ride were ya on, exactly? Oh, thanks.” He took the offered handful of straw and shoved it down the collar of his shirt, patting his chest to move it back into a rough approximation of its place. That seemed to be most of it.
@mgiclife·
“I’m glad I could make your day more exciting,” jack answered with a small grin on his features. he was already starting to be glad he had ran into this stranger out of all the possible people in the world--at least this guy was nice. Not everyone would take getting ran into as positively as him. “And I don’t know if you’d call it a ride but, I was on the wind,” he answered, shrugging, “But the wind can be kind of a jerk sometimes, so I was stuck.”
He tilted his head, the curiosity again getting the better of him. “isn’t being made out of straw inconvenient?” he questioned, “but I guess it means falling doesn’t hurt as much. you were pretty much like falling into a pile of leaves. so that’s, uh,” he paused, chuckling a bit awkwardly at his wording, “which is pretty cool, is what i’m trying to say.”
@fiire-bcrn ~~ Sandy & Jack Frost
Spotting Sandy through the trees was pure luck. It was one of those days where the wind wasn’t strong enough for Jack to ride on, which meant his normal journeys had to be done on foot. When he noticed the other man, a smile found its way onto his face; Sandy was one of the few people he would consider a ‘friend’. Even though their interactions had been fairly brief, Sandy was always kind and friendly, which was more than he could say about most of the people he ran into these days. He almost called out to him to say hello, but another idea popped into his head; with a playful smirk and a twist of his wrist, a snowball formed in his open palm. He aimed it at the other--not the head, of course--and launched it while shouting, “Sneak attack!”

❝ UNLIKE MOST of the sorry fools who come begging you for help, i actually keep my promises. i never had any intentions of following the royals around like a lost puppy. chances are they’ll just take my kingdom out from under me once they’ve got all your heads on a stake. ❞ he didn’t trust other royalty. not usually, at least. someone like maleficent he could depend on, she didn’t have much of a throne to begin with. people like philip and that ‘ prince charming ‘ on the other hand, they had something to truly fight for. as long as villains fell into power, he wouldn’t have to worry about these self - proclaimed heroes deciding he was a mad king, unfit to rule his kingdom and booting him out. not that he’d ever let that happen, not if he could help it. ❝ you can trust me, ursula. we’re far more alike than you think. ❞ he nearly cringed when she kept talking about glinda. he wished more than anything to have her name be erased from his memory, just a stranger with no ties to him. maybe then, all would’ve been right in his life. ❝ then it looks like we’ve got a deal. ❞
“well isn’t that wonderful,” ursula chuckled, turning towards her cabinet and pulling out a scroll. of course, she could do things more modern--a piece of paper would make a decent enough contract, but well. she was a fan of the dramatics. she murmured a spell as she ran her hand along the side of the scroll, their spoken deal etching itself onto the paper with a soft silver glow. she reached for a pen for the other to sign, but before she handed it to him, she paused. a smirk appeared on her face, and she pulled back the contract just a bit, “now, let’s wait one second. I normally have a penalty in place just in case the contract is broken.” she chuckled, shaking her head, “and I know you like to say you’re a man of your word but, i do know a liar when i see one. but if you insist that you keep your promises well...” her eyes darkened and she smirked, a cruel twist of the lips as she leaned a bit closer to him, “it won’t be a problem if i make the penalty for you breaking our little deal be me getting your magic, would it?”
originalreqvim·:
❝ I WASN’T A GOOD MAN, dorothy. i’m still not. but you were better off without my dumb decisions influencing you or ruining you and your mother’s lives. ❞ it was true. even he could admit that he was no saint, and that he never had been, and certainly not now. once upon a time he would’ve said he’d brought her here to convince to glinda, hope that he could dig up all that pent up emotion from losing him and turn that into some ounce of love of even respect for him, only to get her to use that to his advantage. it was reasons like these he knew he never would’ve been a good father to her. but, he didn’t need that anymore, not when he had his deal with ursula. no, he needed her here for a new purpose. ❝ there’s a war on the horizon. bad people are sitting on thrones they should’ve never been given in the first place, and it’s just a matter of time before every ruler in the enchanted forest is overthrown. i know exactly how this will play out. and it ends in glinda getting her greedy hands on emerald city and taking the throne right out from under me. i know she seems like she has good intentions, dorothy, but i can assure you, she doesn’t. ❞ maybe he was stretching the truth a little, but it didn’t matter. either way, glinda would be coming to overthrow him. not because she wanted his throne, but because she’d surely find out about his alliance with the villains. ❝ i can’t let that happen. the woman took my magic from me once, i know her ways, her tricks. she sent me here all those years ago, and i there was no doubt in my mind she would bring you here too, try and pit you against me. i want to keep you safe from her, dorothy. from anyone who would want to hurt you. you are the heir to my throne, after all. ❞
“a war?” she questioned, her eyes widening at the prospect. the more she listened to the man, the more her brain was filled with images of violence, only worsened by the fact that magic and monsters actually existed in this world. she couldn’t help but relate his words to the wars she used to read about back at home--wars that always left families and people broken. “why would glinda want your throne? it seemed like all she wanted to do was help me when we met.” she felt like that question was warranted-- while she had only spoken to glinda briefly, the woman had seemed kind. she seemed helpful, nice, genuine--nothing like he was describing. but if she had taken his power, taken him from dorothy all those years ago then...then she couldn’t possibly be good.
“so you brought me here to...to what? make sure glinda didn’t bring me here first?” it made sense, if she thought about it. even if they didn’t know each other before this, she’d like to think he was still a kind man, in his heart. that he wouldn’t want to know his daughter was in danger; why would a father lie about that? she felt her words and her eyes softening, her tone changing to something closer to belief instead of accusing. “so she wouldn’t...convince me to help her overthrow you?”
fingers intertwined with the other’s, a bright smile lingering upon her lips as the young woman met the other’s gaze. music rang through the air, bodies twisting and turning to it’s rythm. ‘ dance with me. ‘ the smell of alcohol lingered on her breath, ‘ please. ‘ adella had always lived by having a good time, wanting to make the most of her limited time beyond the reach of the ocean. dancing in the sea was something different than on land, it had taken her time to get used to having legs, but now that she knew how to use them – nothing was stopping her from thoroughly enjoying herself.
flynn was no stranger to having a good time. it was a part of his lifestyle, if he were honest; between stealing and travelling, there was only so much he could do without the risk of getting caught. drinking, dancing, flirting. he had done it in so many kingdoms with so many people, he didn’t even blink when the girls hand found his own. he put on a smile, the taste of whiskey still heavy on his own tongue, “you don’t have to ask me twice.” he pulled the girl closer--not too close, of course, he was still somewhat of a gentleman-- “i’d offer to buy you a drink, but i think you already had enough.”

cherubic features lingered wistfully on the building, the winds blowing her auburn curls all around. ❛ isn’t it just beautiful ? ❜ lucy’s voice was as thick as syrup, and twice as sweet; full lips curving upwards innocently. her smile was truly one of make-believe, nothing more nor less than a simper. the ivory clothed woman was eerily pale and her physique was visibly frail behind all the lace fabric, like a statue built of gossamer and lace, soaking up the moonlight. ❛ a little birdy told me it’s haunted … what do you think ? are you brave enough to check it out? ❜
“haunted?” flynn chuckled, quirking an eyebrow at the stranger. she was a beautiful stranger, that much was true--maybe if he was in a different place, a different time, he would have tried to swoon her. a smooth comment, a soft smile; all the tricks in the book for her. but that wasn’t who he was anymore, at least, not for tonight. “i don’t believe in ghosts, there’s a lot more to be scared of that’s already proven to be real.”
hades sat quietly against a stone bench, lit cigarette between his lips and cerberus sitting happily next to him. leaning back, the god of the underworld rolled his shoulder back and sighed. “you would be a lot less annoying if you weren’t just standing there, you know.” he muttered to whoever was near him, facing forward as he took a drag of his cigarette.
“you’d be a lot less mean if you stopped smoking,” jack automatically responded, tilting his head at the man in front of him. in all honesty, jack had just wanted to get closer in order to see the dog; he had a soft spot for animals, after all. if it were up to him, he would have been able to get close enough to the dog to pet it without the man saying a word--yet, luck was never on his side. “but anyways, mister, i just wanted to say hi to your dog.”

belle’s head cocked to the side in surprise at the other’s statement. she had always assumed that like everything else in the world, magic had to have a balance of sorts. however, this new information was definitely interesting to hear. and she was definitely appreciative of the fact that the witch was willing to explain these things to her. ‘ has anyone actually asked for that ? ‘ her brows arched higher, baffled by the very concept that someone might forget that consent is necessary.
a corner of her lips slipped higher into a smirk, as a dark glint appeared in her eyes. she knew better than to hope for someone to go through such a transformation, and yet a part of her enjoyed it. she wanted to see such a person suffer – something that should have scared her about herself. and yet, in that moment she felt comfortable with that very thought. ‘ that’s a good one… ‘ she paused momentarily before asking, ‘ do people mostly come to you seeking love ? or what do they mostly want? ‘
“many people have asked for love,” ursula chuckled darkly, shaking her head. it was a sickening thing, really, people asking her to contort others emotions for their own personal gain; but she never refused, seeing as money was money and business was business. but this lady didn’t need to know that. ursula paused when she recognized a look in that girls eyes; it was a look many girls had before, girls in her coven. the same look ursula saw in her sisters eyes before her sister tried to murder her--the look of darkness. ursula was always a fan of that look.
“most people want...” she let out a breathless sigh, shrugging, “Oh, the usual. love, power, popularity, fortune.” she shook her head, a look of disappointment flashing across her features, “all very selfish wishes, if i had to say. everyone always wants something for themselves, never caring about the effects it might have on others. its sad, really.” she tilted her head, a small smirk on her face, “and when people come around who want too selfish of wishes, well. i make them learn their lesson.” she paused, arching a brow, “but everyone has those wishes. tell me, what’s yours?”
maerchcn·:
the door slammed shut, and adella jumped where she stood. she found that in this state even the smallest of things could shock her when she was least expecting them. restlessly she clambered forward into the dark store, as though she was being swallowed by it’s essence. ‘ yes- ‘ the words escaped her lips prematurely, shooting out as though they were daggers penetrating the air. ‘ yes, of course – anything. i just need more. ‘
she knew that she was addicted, and she knew she needed to stop. but above everything, she knew that she wanted more. no, she needed more. she needed more so that she could function normally, she needed more so she could chase the high and push away the low for a couple more days. ‘ how much do you want ? ‘ she was already fumbling for her purse, attempting to pry it open with shaking hands. when it finally did, coins spilling onto the ground. she immediately dropped down to her knees, fingers racing for each coin attempting to bring them back into her purse.
“oh...double the last amount should do just fine,” ursula responded with a smile, though the smile didn’t quite fit well on her face. it pulled at her heartstrings, just a bit, to see this girl in such a state of desperation. while desperation was usually something she preyed on, this girl wasn’t desperate for help. No, this girl was desperate because ursula had made a potion that toed the line of a drug, one that was addicting and life consuming and this girl had the horrible luck of being ursula’s little ‘test subject’. all in all, it wasn’t the usual type of desperation ursula dealed with, and if she wasn’t getting paid so well for it she might be tempted to stop.
but, alas, money was money, and this girl just happened to be rich. “Come now, darling, have a drink to make yourself...” sane, normal, okay, “feel a bit better.” she grabbed one of the potions she had brewed earlier off the morning that was sitting on the shelf, the bottle itself a deep purple ingrained with symbols she had learned years ago. the potion had a terrible stench--one that could be smelled outside of any bottle, unless a bit of magic was infused. “then we can talk a bit more on how much you’d like to buy.”

❛ yes well , no harm done . ❜ she waved him off, shaking her head slightly. despite her many grievances , she did , at times , appreciate the need to enjoy oneself. it was natural . parties were common in the court , and she found they reinforced her rule . if her people were appeased , she had little to fear from them . with lies not available to her , words needed to be carefully chosen . worse yet , a reputation ( that while quite accurate ) painted her in darkness and thus her introductions required some manner of … sensitivity .
❛ it was just some good fun after all , was it not ? ❜ features grew more benevolent , smile and words softening . ❛ that is your … area of expertise so i’ve heard . ❜
“...you’ve heard right,” jack answered carefully, his eyes darting left and right nervously. he wanted to relax a bit at the softness of the woman’s voice, but he hadn’t exactly had the best experience dealing with other fae. most fae were always up to something, always trying to find weaknesses in the cracks of jack’s armor. still, even knowing how most fae operated, he found himself smiling at the woman with ease, “fun and snow, actually. i have to say, i’m kind of surprise you know who i am.”
he was surprised--it wasn’t everyday that royalty addressed you by name. he didn’t think himself that special, let alone someone the queen would know. but hey, it was nice being known.
