Twas the night before Christmas

Twas the night before Christmas, with joy exuded. Not a creature was stirring, kittenz included! The band mates were gathered around the kia sportage In hopes that their road trip would soon up their mileage. Andrew was nestled all snug in his headband, While visions of psychedelia danced in his head. And Ben in his glasses, and Matt with his fro, Had just buckled in the roadtrip cargo. Will, out on the lawn, caused such a clatter, James made a face but still saw what was the matter. Will was tangoing with great elations. To many a track from Congratulations. Tango aside, they all joined him in dance, And for hours to come they jammed out in a trance. Then a change in soundtrack soon came after, The new choice of music: Oracular Spectacular.

As the band danced on, so progressed the night, They Climbed to New Lows and all was right. But they had forgotten that Christmas was near, And soon discovered pyrotechnics were here.

With a little old firecracker, so sparkly and weird, In a poof of smoke someone else appeared! More rapid than eels his visibility improved And he stepped, and stood, and finally he moved. “Hey doofus! Hey, dumb butts! You fools out on the lawn! Stop interfereing! Stop dancing! for it’s a quarter til dawn! Go to sleep at once! Don’t you know what day it is? I have things to do on the night before Christmas!” Without a doubt they knew who this must be For they spotted his sleigh behind a tree. Santa Claus had just given them orders! Maybe he thought they were simply drug hoarders. But then, in a magnificent moment of recognition, He said, “You must be MGMT! and I’ve got for you: a mission” He spoke to them directly and offered his plan It involved interaction that would excite any fan. “There’s more than one way to spread cheer!" Santa said, And he laughed as he patted them all on the head. "Go to houses tonight and play your music to them. From their joy let the Christmas magic stem!” Then moving surreally and looking quite dapper. For the next few hours they danced together. As the clock struck again, and as you and I know, They exchanged a nod, understood, it was time to go! Santa ran to his sleigh; MGMT to their kia car, And they ran for a while since they’d danced for so far. But they both exclaimed, as they cruised out of sight, “Happy Christmas to all, MGMT and Santa wish you all a good-night!”
