What is a Kink meme?

Kink memes are commentfic fests found usually on Livejournal or other journaling services with similar threaded comment capability.

Most are fandom- or even pairing-specific, and they are nearly always anonymous.

Not all fills are sexually explicit and the anonymous nature of the meme permits both prompters and fillers to have fewer inhibitions in making and filling requests, and may be a way for new fans to feel more comfortable about participating. [1]

There's no length limit nor length requirement and fill can be written or drawn to be as accessible to people as possible. Even if the meme is technically anonymous people are free to claim and repost their content freely.

You can't filter anything on mobile. There are currently more new blakecest fics in the bellarke tag than bellarke fics, so if you can't see why a lot of people really annoyed right now, I think you're intentionally missing the point. Also, some of the fics might briefly mention a relationship, but if the actual point of the fic is three people having sex, it makes no sense to tag it with a couple tag.

Again, I’m not responsible for what other people tag their works with on AO3. If you have a problem with the tagging on a particular work I encourage you to take it up with that author. As I have not posted any Blakecest there is literally nothing I can do about what tags show up in those works. 

I would of course ask that all of the authors participating in the Kink Meme tag responsibly. Other than that it’s out of my hands and I’m sorry that it’s frustrating you but I’m not going to engage about this any longer on this Tumblr. Hi anon, I’m going to tag in for @raincityruckus​ because she’s clearly a little fed up with being held responsible as the mom of all smutty fic writers.

You’re in luck, you actually can filter on mobile. I’ve put together a helpful picture tutorial to help you out.

Here’s the bellamy blake/clarke griffin tag on mobile with zero filters of any kind:

Now the part you want to focus on is that button that says “Filters”

Click on that and a sidebar will pop up, the relevant field is highlighted below:

Now, the secret to filtering things out of the tag is a minus sign, like so:

After you hit the “Sort and Filter” button, the sidebar will go away and you’ll be back in the filtered tag. You’ll know it’s working because the total fic count will have dropped:

As you can see, with the “-blakecest” filter on, the fic count has dropped by one. All of the fic in the entirety of the bellarke tag with blakecest in it as been removed. 

However, it is clear we need to add some additional tags since the tag is reportedly flooded. Go back to your filters pop up (hit “Filters” up at the top) and add some more. I tried it with something more general:

Now when I go back to the main bellarke tag, the total fic count has dropped by 7 additional fics:

Obviously, there will be instances where you may still run across fics that are improperly tagged. You can also try adding keywords with the minus sign in the “Search within results” field and it should filter out any fic with the keywords anywhere in the entire fic but I ran out of time to test that one for you.

Hey have you considered making like a google doc to host the filled/unfilled lists? Also thank you so much for compiling them like this! It makes it so easy to find all the lovely works posted to the km

Considered, but failed entirely in the implementation stage.. honestly, I’m a god damn idiot and can’t figure out google docs despite multiple attempts and step by step instructions. (I don’t know why, I just know that last time I tried it was actually faster for me to code a calendar in html from scratch with no actual html knowledge than it was to find how to make a google doc spreadsheet.)

If someone else wants to put together a google doc for it I say go for it, I can send link lists your way to make it faster, I will link it for everyone to see.

But for me personally it’d probably be faster to retype the entire unfilled listing from the very beginning.
