twenty five things i’ve learned in the twenty five years i’ve been alive:
- self love is so, so important. love yourself and the rest will follow.
- comparing yourself to others is never a good idea. don’t compare your story to any one else’s. your journey is special, and your journey is yours.
- stick to your morals and values, always.
- stand up for yourself more.
- you are incredibly strong, powerful, and fierce. don’t allow for anyone to dim your light.
- don’t fear your alone time, you will find great strength within it.
- embarrassing moments are just that — moments. let them pass.
- you will lose friends over the years, and that’s okay. you will find better ones in your future.
- it’s okay to not be okay. you won’t get it right every single day. and that’s okay too.
- love what makes you special. indulge in your quirks and talents, even if that talent is small.
- take each day one at a time. and don’t forget to breathe. everything is going to be okay.
- that thing you’re scared of doing? do it. overcome your fears, one step at a time.
- don’t allow for anyone to rob you of your happiness.
- keep your heart open and at peace with yourself and others. don’t allow for their actions to turn you cold.
- if you love a certain tv show, band, etc. love it fully and completely! don’t be ashamed of what you like. don’t be afraid of the judgement from others.
- while others are receiving their blessings, don’t worry. yours are coming too.
- you won’t always know who you are and what you want to do in life. everyone feels this way too. you’re not alone.
- love your pets more. cherish them. kiss them. hug them. they’re only here for a short while. say i love you more to your family. spend as much time with them as you can.
- listen to 80s and 90s music more often.
- sometimes it’s better to be alone than to be surrounded by people who don’t truly care about you.
- accept the differences you have with others. they’re not wrong. you’re not wrong. your experiences and differences are beautiful.
- your mental health is more important than a grade or toxic a relationship. take care of yourself.
- don’t worry about the people who have hurt you. karma always takes care of them.
- self care includes dancing around in your underwear to your favorite songs…do it more often.
- time heals all. you will bloom again.
