Ashina secret technique: The T-Shirt of Friendship
Wolf already has a pathetic wet dog vibe in the game, so I figured I'd play it up here loll Who can resist such an adorable face??
The answer is Kuro, of course! (sometimes XD)
hill i decided to die on today:
Hashirama is held to a higher standard in the fandom. When he makes a mistake, it's treated as a moral failure or a sign of incompetence. As if he should've prevented every future tragedy, solved political conflicts, foresee the actions of people who lived decades after him etc. etc.
Other characters' flaws are being tied to their trauma by the fandom. Their bad choices are explained, forgiven, and understood as the result of what they went through. But this happens rarely with Hashirama. His flaws are treated as intentional choices, not the result of childhood abuse or growing up in a war, being sent to kill as a child, or losing two brothers before he was even emotionally developed.
Fandom only recognizes trauma when it looks like rage, depression, violence, isolation, self-destruction. But when it looks like conflict avoidance, suddenly it isn't recognized at all. Because it doesn't look dramatic, people pretend there is no trauma.
This creates an unfair fandom narrative where Hashirama is expected to be perfect and denied the right to be traumatised at the same time. And so instead he's infantilized, oversimplified, blamed, flattened, and quite frankly boring.

Soooooo exciting that you've gotten into sekiro!!! I feel like it gets so little loveš
Just wondering what drew you to it? It's so wonderful to see one of my favorite artists creating for one of my favorite gamesā¤ļø
Uwwaaah I feel really really honoured! A friend got me into this game. At first I thought Sekiro just wasn't my thing and that Iād quit after my very first death. But then I died a second time, then a fifth, a tenth... Long story short I fell in love with the gameplay, the story, the designs, Wolf, and Kuro š„° This game deserves so much more than just endless talk about its combat mechanics. I'm so hyped that the anime is coming out soon!!
Purification ending Full version under cut tw: bl00d
Here are some portrait doodles of Wolf and Kuro from my AU, including Kuro's red swords! His katana is a replica of Kusabimaru; also, he and Wolf name their wakizashi blades after each other XD I dunno, I just think it's fun hahaa
