Let's talk about this scene:

I don't think it's about Gumigoo, at least not directly.

Pomni's biggest fears have always been clear, she's afraid of people forgetting about her and people not taking her seriously.

My theory consists on Gumigoo being the first "person" Pomni knew that could relate heavily to her fears, being the only one that truly understood her.

So basically, I don't think Pomni had a crush on an IA, I just think that was the first time she felt deeply and completely understood.

Now let's talk about episode 4, where Pomni's biggest fears became true.

She was forgotten by the only "person" that truly got her and that also made the others at the circus not take seriously her job.

So basically, I think Pomni's torture wasn't about Gumigoo, it was symbolizing that she was never going to be understood and she will always be forgotten and not taken seriously.

At least that's my theory, and I don't think it's that far fetched because Gangle's torture was also very abstract and filled with symbology.
