a CHALLENGE ?? did the other believe that her confession of love for the weather was a lie ?? - or was it purely baited temptation … through a toothy smile, lydia wondered. “ oh, you don’t think i won’t step out there ? i’m not some primadonna who is afraid of a little rain… - ” her foot dared, lifted and headed to step down into the rain. hesitation halted her, “ - wait … what if i melt … ? ” what a lame joker you were, lyd. the offer of care was endearing; enough to warm the brunettes face. it was the palms of her hands that came into contact with the droplets first. holding her hands outward, lydia stepped down the first step. looking up to the sky, she struggled to blink. her eyes looked even more electric in blue beneath the sky. a giggle hummed out of her mouth, “ now what ?? want me to dance ? jump in the puddles ? ”
“prove it,” mia taunted, a toothy grin on display. well, as much as it could be given the darker grays surrounding them. not to mention everything had to be out of focus. probably worse for the cameramen that were always there. the soccer star had gone out of her way to keep her private life-- well private; and yet, in a moment of weakness she had failed miserably. it wasn't about the paycheck or fancy vacation, it was purely out of boredom. but she was admittedly far from being bored at the moment. swatting rain away from her face, she looked at the other with genuine amusement. “call me presumptuous but something tells me you're more of a dorothy than a wicked witch.” mia wouldn't complain if she was wrong either-- the villains rarely got their due. her eyes widened when she actually did it. mia was hopeful that she would but she never better than most to possess too much expectation. “i hadn't thought that through... i just didn't want to be alone in this. it’s too amazing to not share,” she shrugged, stepping closer to the other. her words were sincere for the briefest of moments. but just like that, there was a hint of mischief in her movements. she was back to jokes as she moved her arms airily like she was on dancing with the stars. mia didn't just have rhythm on the field. “nah, i just wanted to get a beautiful woman soaking wet.”
