Trigger warning for occasional blood, gore, body horror, violence, death. It doesn't happen often, but it still happens. I do not take requests, commissions or do art trades. Mostly Fullmetal Alchemist, especially Conqueror of Shamballa. Currently hyperfixating on Treasure Planet.
Just a heads-up to anyone trying to send me messages on here, because Tumblr is Tumblr, I’m only getting the notification, not the actual message. Try the chat, it isn’t lost so easily that way. (As far as I know)
I will block and report empty blogs following me. If you’re a new user and aren’t aware of the scourge of Tumblr bots, just know that I’ll assume your empty blog is a bot account.
In early January 2024 I got it in my head that drawing a comic was so much easier to do in an A5 size, and thus this project started. As usual, I was very eager to begin with but then it quickly dissipated. Gave up on the very last frame of page 3.
This was an attempt to start my little Treasure Planet fanfiction based on Battle at Procyon. I kinda just made it up as I went, not writing anything down beforehand, because I figured it would be better as a shitty first draft than not existing at all. Turns out, making a comic that might not even be usable in the end was a bit more work than I thought, especially in a smaller size. The consistency between panels is nothing to write home about, but I still kinda like the dialogue at the very least.
My third attempt, and my least favorite of the bunch (minus the fourth which isn't uploaded). They can't all be winners, as they say :'D
This time I tried sketching with color pencils, trying to get some color into my sketches and seeing what I could play off of. I also thought it would be fun to color traditionally for once, but honestly I just didn't have the patience :'D Didn't get much out of this one, probably some of the enthusiasm had petered out by this point and the additional planning involving colors may have had an impact? I don't know, I'm up for trying again at some later date.
The eye came first, then some eyebrows and a really tiny nose, and then the hair. I then realized there would definitely be room for a mouth, so I scrawled a little bit more in the surrounding area to see if I could see a fitting shape in there.
I managed to smudge this one up more than I hoped, even after thirty years I still haven't gotten around to getting a drawing glove or working out a method to avoid rubbing my hand all over. Had a fun time coloring and working out various different layers of overlays, I think it worked out. :'D

So a few months ago, I found an old sketch from my teenage years, where I had overlaid a page to "see" different shapes and characters in the homework underneath. What ensued was an epiphany where I then scrawled bubbles and lines all over several papers, for then to really try to squint and see what I could see in the mess. This one started as a bundle of hair before the torso, leg and face became clear, and just kind of extrapolated from there.
Tried my best to work without using an eraser, but I did end up erasing parts in certain places. I'm definitely not happy with her right arm, but it was very freeing to just scrawl over the paper and not having to worry about mistakes, and just incorporate them into the expression. Just kinda letting the drawing speak for itself, I guess? Either way I had fun :'D

For some reason I'm having a much easier time drawing traditionally than digitally these days, so I'm forging while the iron is hot and getting some stuff down on paper. It's not great, but better than nothing :'D
More info below the cut:
Characters featured are, from top left to right:
- Ego, my self-insert. Really just a practice sketch, but I did enjoy her low-effort little outfit with a custom band-shirt and pink lounge-shorts. The band logo is Gåte btw
- Noah, from the Fullmetal Alchemist: Conqueror of Shamballa movie. Wearing a default custom lace dress, purple scarf and orange flower hairpin. She somehow never looks bad in anything, I swear :'D Then again I'm biased because she's also my wife in-game
- Fiona Belli, from Haunting Ground / Demento on the PS2. Suspender skirt, ankle boots, a layered heart t-shirt and a cuffed beanie.
From the left, bottom row:
- Ego again, this time with her proper Tomodachi hair and suspiciously nice clothes
- Xelha, from Baten Kaitos on the Gamecube, also now on Switch. With galactic leggings paired with a cute sweater and skirt
- Saria, from Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Wearing a mushroom cap, desert scarf and university sweater. Sad I didn't have room to do a full-body sketch as her outfit is adorable, so you might see it again if I decide to do more :'D
So yeah, Tomodachi Life. Loved it on the 3DS, having fun with it on the Switch. Feels a little weird because I was at a completely different point in my life when I played the 3DS version and could just barely get up in time for the morning market. But I could tell some stories about my old island, like how most of the characters I made were female, so there was constant romantic scrambling for the few male characters who were almost all married by that point. The 3DS game had no options for gay relationships and so if you didn't have an even 50/50 split with complimentary personalities, someone was always gonna be left out. So I ended up having to register new characters as male to prevent broken hearts and potential home-wrecking, resulting in a loooot of lesbian couples and some occasional topless trips to the park. At least now they can date whoever they want or not date at all. I'm too chicken to let the really weird ships flourish though. Sorry Poirot, I don't think 18-year old Lyude is right for you. :'D
The background is especially gaudy, I really just couldn't bear leaving it white. Or just the one color, for that matter. I'm sorry but I'm also not. I don't know.

This didn't really have any context when I started, just needed to draw them again, ya know? :'D Halfway through this I remembered a conversation I wrote (or intended to write) where a character calls them "fitting" for each other due to their disabilities. Edward as "the amputee" and Willy (Ego) as "the lunatic." I hope I managed to get across Willy's intended vibe of "uh YEAH we actually ARE a great fit, and three's a crowd so F off" while Ed is just gloating and loving every minute of it.
Another randomizer prompt, once more from the Gothic Heroine Maker by artist @elequinoa! Traditionally drawn and colored, cut out digitally and paired with the original dollmaker result. Originally drawn on the 20th of July in 2023.
More sketches based on The Mummy, now with Dante as Imhotep! I know Dante/Lyra looks more like Anck-Su-Namun, but she doesn't get enough to do and not enough screentime. Plus, powerful and undead just fits Dante. Then again I'm biased, any excuse to draw her, honestly :'D
Starting from the top, from left to right:
A little snack. First sketch of Dante in this role, decided to change her hair after this one.
Square up, freehand sketch. Didn't have enough room for her right hand, decided against drawing the left hand out of laziness.
Sandstorm, freehand sketch. Not a very good sand effect, and the collapsed chin really only made sense while I was making it, call it post-art clarity, idk. Made the airplane smaller in SAI as the sketch is already super small without me getting the scale right
Profile, freehand sketch. Just testing out her look with longer hair, looking ever more like Anck-Su-Namun
Feel free to suggest FMA fancasts for this movie/franchise, cause I'm struggling XD;;;
Guess who's hyperfixated on The Mummy (1999) now? Yeeeeaaaah. You know what that means.
Most of the references come from movie-screencaps.com, but I'll make sure to link specific shots below the cut. Completely bullshitted the anatomy as I'm apparently allergic to sketching these days, so they're a little warped from that and all the eyeballing.
Starting from the top, from left to right:
"Look what I got!" - I can't help drawing Edward pretty :'D Realized only afterwards that it makes no sense for the leather guard to be on his right hand with the automail. Also the cat is black now in the colored version just because
"Oops."
Rick (Ed) with camels + minor cameo from the Eye of Horus that appears to be tattooed on Rick's right hand, for easy reference
Sometimes it's nice just to feel a little pretty
PARKOUR - or a vague approximation of it. In hindsight the hand doesn't actually reach the ground in this shot, and if he did try to stop his fall with it, it would probably end up damaged or broken. Had fun trying to interpret the motion blur, but I did have to give up when it came to figuring out where his head would be :'D
"Get me the hell outta here!" - Did eventually have to switch the tattoo over to his left hand, but now it's the wrong way up and muddled by the crease on his hand :'D
"He's filthy, he's rude, a complete scoundrel." / "Anyone I know?" - drawn without reference, except for costumes. Feel like I could have given Edward more of a smirk on the right and less of an annoyed scowl, as the line really is more comedic than accusatory. Also I drew his stubble too lightly so it came off in the transfer.
What's in the baaaaag
Idk, def didn't catch the vibe with the expression, plus this sketch is smaller than the others so it's extra messy.
Might consider fully rendering some of these at some point, but I say that a lot :'D
This is a traced image of what I was so sure was an official sketch from the original FMA:CoS production team that I wanted to render, but it turned out to be amazing fanart from a user on pixivbox! Link to the original image is here! (just scroll down a little)
