“I have an emphasis in Math, but I’ll most likely end up in a primary school like this one. I like kids, and they seem to like me a little too much.”

You teach? How cute. You must have a lot of patience.

“Student teach, but I get the full experience. I like to think that I do, yeah.”

“It’s all good. But I’d work out how to get out the paint. You don’t want to walk around with a stain.”

“I’m hoping Google will help me out there.”

“Oh, I’m sorry wasn’t really on purpose, but maybe you should fix that?”

“That was the plan. I’m running back to the house on my lunch break to change.”

“And what exactly do you teach?”

“A little bit of everything, really. The school I’m at has the teachers teach all subjects outside of music and art, and I was picking the students up from the art room when the incident occurred.”

“Well, just making sure.”

“I appreciate your concern.”

“Full body armor is also recommended,” she said with a nod, quickening her pace slightly as she trudged up the hill. “Okay, now you can explain.”

“Impatient, are we?” He took a few more long strides up the hill, positioning himself under a tree. “This hilltop has one of the best views within walking distance from campus. Surprisingly, though, I’ve never seen another soul up here.” He turned to look at her, a serene smile on his face. “It’s nice and quiet, and it’s my absolute favorite place to study.” He turned his attention back towards the view and stuffed his hands into his pockets. “Sometimes you just need an escape from the distractions.”

“Does it? That’s fantastic; I can’t afford any new clothing.”

“Well… that make sa lot more sense. Why were you with a nine year old?”

“I’m doing my student teaching at the primary school across town. Five days a week, I have twenty Year Fours clambering for my attention.”

siennarowee:

Sienna playfully rolled her eyes. “Fine, I promise not to kill you. It wouldn’t be a fair fight. You might need some backup.”

“I might need all of Interpol to back me up,” he said, his grin widening. “It’s just up this hill here.”

“Euhm- wait, what?”

“You were giving me that look that everyone on the bus was shooting me, so I thought I’d explain.”

“Are you sure? It doesn’t exactly look like that?”

“Positive. I remember the moment vividly.”

“It’s good you acknowledge it, some people have to learn the hard way,” she said with a small grin as she cracked her knuckles against her leg.

“Starting to think I’m the one who should be worried,” he said, though the smile on his face didn’t show it. “Should I be making you promise that you won’t murder me, either?”

“On the place where your butt goes on the chair? Okay, have fun living in your world of ignorance.”

“I don’t bleed from my bum, thank you. A nine year old got a bit handsy with me after art class today.”

Thank God, you just scared me half to death. Aren’t you a bit old to be finger-painting?

“My sincerest apologies. I am, yes, but the nine year olds in my class aren’t.”

“I guess I’m okay with it as long as you aren’t trying to kill me. I have a black belt and I don’t want to use it on someone as fragile looking as you,” she half teased, glancing over his slender frame. 

“No killing, I promise,” he said as he leaned into a turn. “Not only would I never kill anyone to begin with, but I’m certain you could snap me in half if provoked. “

“Right, of course. No worries, though. I had twenty energetic nine year olds on my hands; it was bound to happen.”
