“ SO, i bounce my little self into victoria’s secret today, right? and this lady’s standing there, like any saleswoman does. i walk up and asked to get my bra size measured, since i haven’t shopped there in a while, and she looks right at my chest with this completely judgmental look and goes, ‘shouldn’t you be shopping somewhere a little more…your age?’“ starr burst out into a fit of laughter as the words left her mouth. she almost couldn’t believe that this conversation had actually happened. “i mean, i know that i look young, but damn. i didn’t know there was an age requirement for undergarments.”
‘ oh, love, i know the feeling. ’ a laugh stuttered from the depths of her chest like the wheeze of a car’s exhaust. sometimes, micky felt as if her growth had been stunted by the series of unfortunate events that had occurred in her teen years; that to any outsiders she seemed innocent, or oblivious. or dumb. perhaps she was looking too far into things, as she often tended to do. however, the most likely reason was that her petite features and admittedly small chest didn’t do her any favours when it came to looking her age. ‘ they get this look, as if i’m looking for the sexy bedroom kind of lingerie. all i ever want is to get seven pairs of panties for twenty-seven dollars --- it’s not that deep. ’
There’s not a single place here in Riverdale that rests in single. I can’t turn a corner without hearing fucking gossip it’s tiring. Anyway I’ve arrived. I’m Evangeline, it would be a pleasure, but I’m clearly annoyed.
she was puzzled as to why the blonde was so bothered by something as common and unsurprising as small town gossip. it wasn’t that micky enjoyed much of it either, but she could typically predict what was worth putting stock in and what was a total wad of shit. ‘ no one was, like... waiting for you. ’ had evangeline been a tad nicer from the get go, micky might have tried a little harder to turn the other cheek and treat her kindly. however, relative indifference wasn’t exactly unkind either. ‘ that’s cool, evangeline. but i don’t know what you expect anyone to do about it -- least of all me. ’
ay, i’m dee & this is bby micky. she’s cool n all and i’ll try to keep this short. if you’re down for plotting please hmu or like this and i’ll slide into your dms xx
* ariana grande, demigirl, she/her or they/them, oc ━━ riverdale’s very own MICKY PALERMO is now twenty years old. they have lived in town for twenty years, and pop never forgot their regular ━ extra large mint choc shake with curly fries. you’ll likely find the waitress hanging around the roving eye, probablytelling fortunes for some cash on the side. their friends on the southside will tell you all about how they’re sweet, empathetic and felicific, but others might describe them as reclusive or submissive. oh well, no matter how you feel about mouse, you can’t deny that their predictions are scarily accurate. ━━ written by dee, she/her, 20, gmt !
so micky was raised in a house where knowing the future was pretty normal. think like, if you’ve read the raven cycle, blue’s house.
but her mother was of the same mindset, taught micky all the tricks she needed to know. her father mostly left them to it -- he didn’t understand, but he encouraged all the readings and the dreams that woke the whole house in the middle of the night.
even when micky was answering phone calls from locals with questions about the weather and the lottery numbers instead of doing her homework, it was fine, because this was HER thing, and her parents got that.
and mostly, aside from the odd disturbing nightmare or reading that left her a little shaken, micky’s childhood was a dream in motion. full of love and encouragement, she was an only child, thus the sole focus of her parents’ attention. but they made sure she knew the value of her ‘gift’ and that she ought to use it to help people.
it wasn’t until her mother died of an illness that things began to spiral. micky knew it was coming and there was nothing she could do. no preventable measures to take, they just had to accept that their family of three would be reduced to two.
but before they even had time to grieve, a man claiming to be micky’s real father -- henry -- showed up in town, wanting a hand in the funeral arrangements and in the furthering of micky’s education. she didn’t want to accept it, but her dad verified it in the end, said that her mother was pregnant when they met and they had decided to raise her this way.
micky wasn’t mad, it didn’t change anything. her dad was still her dad, and this man was just... a sperm donor. but he had a little more say than that.
her biological father wanted her to begin staying in the sisters of quiet mercy, to teach her discipline and that this whole Sight thing was nonsense. at 16, she was forced to stay there for two months, until her dad could prove that henry had no right to place her in there, as he had legally abandoned his daughter. seeing as her dad was her sole surviving legal guardian, he could remove her from the sisters and take her home.
but things were different -- she had missed too much school, barely scraping by and eventually dropping out. her mind was elsewhere, and there was now a shame to what she had previously taken so much pride in.
micky became reclusive, spending most of her time at home, making dinner for her dad when he got home from work at the auto shop, dusting off old records from the attic to play as she cleaned and cleaned and ignored all the phone calls to their house.
it was only when she started waitressing at the roving eye to help out with the bills that micky started easing back into herself again. slowly. she could tell wildly happy drunks their fortunes with no weight or consequence. it was fun, every night like a party, coming home with a smile on her face.
things have been a little better lately, but obvs micky knows that with pop tate’s death, things are getting a little murky and suspicious yet again. just pls don’t let it harsh her vibe ://
“Hey—-” Heather put on her best sweet-girl smile–one she had perfected over the years, the fakest thing she had ever done–as she approached the person just a few steps away from her, her laptop and a few books in her hands. “Could you point me to the Riverdale Register? It’s my first day and I’m totally lost.”
hands stained with glitter from the previous night’s work clutched at brown paper bags full to the brim with the week’s groceries. micky could just about see a blonde head above the grapes and oranges, but smiled nonetheless, turning slightly to orient herself and put a face to the voice she was hearing. ‘ oh, don’t even worry about it. it’s like... hold on, let me put these bags down. ’ carefully, she rearranged the contents of her arms to place one of the bags on the path, leaving the other next to it while maintaining eye contact with the blonde. ‘ you gonna be a famous journalist? you’ll get some juicy scoops in a town like this. ’
