“No More Lies” Reze x Male Reader, part 2! Reze never wanted to tell Y/n who she really was, and in her mind she never would. Her former superiors were right. She was a monster, a devil. Y/n would never love her if he knew what she really was. Hell, she was sent to kill him. She never wanted to lose Y/n, she’d never felt this was towards someone. So she stuck to her lies. She did everything that would make sure Y/n would never find out what she was. She knew deep down it was wrong. If he didn’t love her for what she truly was, a devil, then he certainly wouldn’t love her knowing that she had been lying to him since the day they met. He shouldn’t know, he couldn’t know… but unfortunately for her, he would. They were out one day when she felt something wrong, years of systematic training taught her senses to be keen. The city was being attacked by a devil, an incredibly strong one at that (hell, it could even be the gun devil). Reze initially tried to protect Y/n without revealing her true self. But it all came to a head when the building was blown in half, they were cornered. Reze knew there was no other way. Not only was Y/n going to see the true her, he was going to see her in her truest form, her most terrifying form. The Nuclear Bomb Devil. The devil attacking them was too strong for her base form. She leaped out of the building so he wouldn’t be caught in the blast of her transformation. She pulled her pin, and with an explosion that shook mountains, she transformed. Half the size of a skyscraper, her attire looking like the burnt skin of people affected by nuclear radiation, on the jagged edges sprouted nuclear bombs. And with that, the battle commenced. By the time the smoke cleared, there was near nothing left of the city they were in, but emerging from the smoke came her love, Y/n, clothes burnt, him covered in soot and minor cuts and bruises. He looked relieved to see her alive… until his gaze laid upon the only remaining proof of her true nature. Her pin. He looked betrayed as he remembered her transforming before he ran. She chased after him until he eventually stopped running. He didn’t turn to her as he spoke “I can’t believe I actually fell for it.” He spoke as Reze couldn’t find the words. “I can’t believe I actually thought you loved me.” “I do, Y/n, I really do-“ “Then why did you lie to me?!” She didn’t speak “You were sent to kill me, weren’t you?” She couldn’t say it so she simply nodded. He explained how when his back was turned during their first days together he’d notice a dark look in her eyes, and that the soviets had sent people to attack him and his family before Reze, and now, knowing who she really was, it all made sense, his family heard of the soviet devil experiments, trained as assassins, and connected the dots that she was one of them. He walked away, but Reze didn’t follow him, knowing he had every right to want to leave her. A week passed, Reze didn’t know what to do. She had nowhere to go. The soviets? After killing her superiors she knew if she went back there would be a price on her head. Family? She had none. Y/n… she loved him, but she felt she’d never see him again. She sat at the park they had their first official date at, just staring at the pavement that her tears stained. When suddenly “Fancy seeing you here.” Y/n was sat beside her. No words were exchanged for at least a minute before Y/n said he couldn’t deny his feelings. He knew he shouldn’t, he knew he should hate her, not just for being a devil, but lying to him ever since they met, but he didn’t. Of course he was hurt, but he couldn’t deny he loved her. After a brief moment of locked eyes they shared a kiss. Afterward Reze told him that of all the lies she told him, loving him wasn’t one of the m. They shared a tearful hug as they reaffirmed their love. They had a fresh start, and this time, there would be no more lies. “But maybe we shouldn’t tell my parents you’re a devil. I doubt they would be okay with me not only dating a devil, but dating a devil that was sent to kill me.”

Discovering reze's true identity

A/n:here's finally the part two to the reze fic. I hope you like this and thank you for requesting again

Reze had never felt like she did when she was with you. Happy, understood, treated as an actual person rather than a weapon...actually loved.

That's why she kept lying to you, she knew that there was a good chance that if you knew her true nature and purpose you would have left her, you were kind but were you kind enough to not only forgive but keep loving a devil who was sent here specifically to take you out? She wasn't a human in the end that was a truth that she couldn't change and so she figured the only way she could keep being loved was to pretend to be one.

Every time you asked her about herself or something more private like her past she kept dodging the question and eventually you figured it was probably best not to ask.

And so reze kept living in her lies just like she wanted, you didn't suspect anything about her and that's exactly how she wanted to keep it. She loved you so much and seeing you so happy to be in a relationship made her even happier, this was the perfect life she had been looking for ever since she was born and she couldn't even entertain the thought that one day it could have ended....but one day, in fact, that became much more than just a thought.

You were just having a walk in the city, holding hands and pointing at all the places you wanted to go when suddenly you heard screaming from everywhere and buildings started to collapse, you saw reze's eyes widen as she immediately gripped you by the shoulders

"Y/n, we need to le-"

More rubble and smoke surrounded you, reze immediately moved in to shield you from any piece that could hit you. When the smoke cleared she held your hand and started to lead you in a place where she thought you would be safe, or whatever the safest space could be.

As you saw her kick down a door and lead you to a corner of the building you hid in you started thinking that this was all so weird, reze's attitude to this more specifically, she looked like she was already expecting it or like she was already prepared. She was too strong and was able to handle this situation too well and too fast for a normal girl.

You kept hiding there, reze hugging you tightly, when suddenly another explosion came from beneath you and you heard reze mutter something under her breath

"I'm so sorry y/n, this is all my fault....i'm so sorry"

She tightened her grip on you even more as you heard another explosion not far away

"...no I will protect you no matter what"

After giving you one last squeeze she stopped holding you and turned towards the broken window of the building.

"Wait reze-"

Before you could stop her she jumped out of the window while holding on to the pin on her neck

She knew that this was dangerous, if you saw her like this then you would have definitely figured out the truth and that was the exact opposite of what she had wanted to happen for the entirety of your relationship, but now this was the only way to protect you and that was a far more important thing than whatever might have happened to your relationship. She couldn't let the first person who genuinely loved her die like this

The fight finished with reze winning, she detransformed and stood on her knees in the middle of the crater made by the explosion, she smiled knowing that she had managed to keep you safe but that smile faltered once she saw the way you were looking at her, your wide eyes and open mouth...you were scared of her

"Y/n....i-"

She got up but as soon as she did you backed away from her

"Wait...y/n...wait"

You turned around and started to walk away from her, she tried her best to follow you but the closer she got the faster you kept running

"I can't believe i actually thought you loved me"

"no y/n i love you, I really really do!"

"Then why did you lie to me?"

She stayed silent because she had no excuse, you were right, she had lied to you for so long and had no idea how to justify it because there was no real justification except for her selfishness

"You're a devil who was sent to kill me aren't you?"

She timidly nodded

"You're not the first one, but...you're the only one that managed to actually fool me, if you want you can do it now, i would deserve it for falling for your lies"

"I would never hurt you, i love you"

"Then why did you lie to me!? If you actually do love me then wouldn't you want to come clean? Did you actually think about eventually telling me your identity? Even once?"

She looked down, the guilt she was feeling made it impossible to look in your eyes

"...no"

".....at least you're being truthful for once"

Those words hurt reze like a dagger through her heart but she knew you were right, you had all the reasons to leave her, that's why she didn't follow you when you kept walking.

She didn't know why the next week she found herself walking through the same park you had your first date at, maybe it was nostalgia of the past, of your relationship, of the love that she would have never had the opportunity to experience again now that she had nowhere to go.

She sat down on the bench and started staring at a flower in front of her, it reminded her of the first gift you gave to each other, those bouquets of flowers.

She was so focused that she didn't even notice when you sat down across from her

"How do you say flower in Russian?"

Her eyes snapped in your direction but she still didn't want to do something that could ruin the situation she was in even more so she simply answered you

"It's цветок, I haven't seen many back there, though, it's so cold not many can grow, especially not these kind"

"Ah I see, so that's why you looked so surprised and happy when I gave them to you"

"In part yes, it was also the first gift anyone had sincerely given me"

You stayed silent for a while looking at the flowers until you spoke again

"I've been thinking about it ever since we last spoke but I can't deny it, the truth is that I love you, even after all this I love you just as much as I did before"

"But i lied to you for so long! Even about my identity. How can you love me after all that?"

"Because you protected me, i would have died back then if you weren't there to save me, i have to acknowledge that"

Reze was so happy for a moment she couldn't move but then she immediately wrapped you in her arms and kissed you, she got even happier when she felt you kiss back, something she never thought she could feel again

"It's true that I have lied to you about many things but...loving you was never a lie, I love you and will always continue to love you"

"I'm so glad, me too"

You kissed again as reze promised herself to never lie to you again to keep this beautiful relationship going.

Ramattra Headcanons - Ramattra x Child!Reader (Platonic)

This is kinda based off Honkai star rail, I really like Svarog and Clara. I changed some things up just to kinda make it whatever but robots are great. I might do this again bc I have been thinkng about this a lot.

You had been raised by omnics your entire life, you're parents sending you off with another family in hopes it would pay off their debts...and it did. You had been taken into a wealthy family as a playmate for their youngest child, yet when you were no longer needed you would be sent off with the omnics who did housework to help clean or cook. You acknowledge the omnics as family, and moreso the humans around you as work.

The human family does very little to teach you anything, but since you're so sweet and cute the omnics have taken it upon themselves to help educate you. Other than being their youngest childs playmate, you don't interact with other humans which has taken a toll on the way you socialize with others.

The first time Ramattra see's you is when he's freed the rest of the omnics within your town of their duties of serving humans. He's confused as to why they're helping you out and questions their behaviour, pointing his staff to your chin. This big hunk of robot is terrfying the first time you meet him, hiding behind one of your omnic family members they explain your situation to him. How they're all you have after your original human family abandoned you, and the current one never treated you like human.

He's very torn what to do because you are human...but you're also just a kid who at this point has had everything ripped from you by humans. He feels like a hypocrite when he makes the decision but ultimatley decides that having you keeps common omnic folks in good spirits. A temporary base it set up for neabry omnics where he occasionaly visits. Everytime he returns he always ask about how you've been doing, and anything new you've been up to.

They tell him how you have a knack for reparing. To you helping rebuild and repair omincs is the same amount of effort as putting a bandage on a wound. He's very proud of you and often likes to brag about how far you've come to others who are willing to listen. For the amount of time he stays, you like to stay close. Always clinging onto his fingers/hands, or if he's up to it, he let's you sit on his shoulders. When he's having meetings with other omnics to discuss future plans you like to sit in his lap and just doodle on paper that he's provided you. A few of them will lightly poke fun of a past ravenger now coddling a human child as if it were his own, he get's so salty about it because he knows it true.

When it comes to doing long walks he'll carry you the entire time, saying your fragile body isn't used to tough terrain yet. Just like the other omnics he likes to teach you things as well! It may not be how to read and write but you're now a very sneaky child with all the tips and tricks you've learned.

He's very insistent that you don't talk or interact with humans, especially while he's gone. He doesn't go into exact detail but you know that in the bottom of his perhaps makeshift heart, he tells you these things out of care.

Once you tried to hold his staff but the weight of it was heavier than you thought, almost making you fall over before he just grabbed it away. Speaking of his staff, he secretly enjoys it when you put stickers on it. It reminds him of you when he's far away and that when he goes back you'll be there to greet him like you always do. When you're running away from him in a playful matter, he'll pick you up by the scruff and ask you what you're doing.

Whenever Lucifer demands cuddles she's not taking no for an answer, but you'd never refuse cuddle anyways, because cuddles with her genuinely feel great. She likes to be the big spoon and wrap her arms around you and lean her head on your shoulder, kissing your cheek and teasing you a bit during the cuddling

You definitely eat pancakes and sometimes drink wine while you cuddle, and lucy adores feeding you the pancakes and kissing the crumbs away. Even if the couch gets dirty she doesn't care as she'll just use some kind of magic to clean it later....if she remembers

Either way, judging from how she suddenly started choking on her cigarillo, she was certainly caught off guard.

"Well, damn. I thought my past was bad, but I'll admit that's a strong contender."

-She invites you to her place more often after you tell her, mostly for drinks and smokes to help you forget about your past. Sure, it's not the most healthy coping mechanism, but it works for her, at least for the most part. If you don't drink or smoke, she's fine with you resting your head on her lap or cuddling into her for comfort while she does.

-If you ever feel insecure due to who your dad is and the things he's done, she'll take the time to remind you that who your parents are doesn't determine who you are. Just look at her, for example. She may be far from the most well-adjusted person in Night City, but considering the things her dad has done, she practically looks like a saint in comparison.

-In a weird way, she's actually sort of glad your past is so messed up. Of course, she wouldn't wish your situation on anyone, but at least now the two of you can relate to each other's pain, and the horrible things your fathers have done.

Rebecca

-You told Rebecca your secret at one of the many, many bars you two frequent in your free time. At first, she thought you were joking, thinking something like that would be impossible, and burst into a laughing fit.

-Then, after a few seconds of you staring at her with a confused look, she eventually realised you were serious...which only made her laugh even more.

"Holy shit, choom. How big was it? Bet it had to hurt!"

-She's honestly amazed any woman could even handle Adam's "smasher" at all, let alone long enough for her to get knocked up. She'll do her best to refrain from making such comments to your face out of respect, though, no matter how curious she may be on the details.

-If you're cool with it, she loves using you for scary dog privilege. Any time someone tries to mess with either of you, she wraps her arm around your shoulders (or waist, more likely), and takes great pleasure in telling your harasser that they just messed with Smasher's kid and that they're about to get fucked harder than your mother did (again, very respectfully). Of course, she could easily handle it herself, and will if the situation comes to it, but she finds this way more fun.

Dorio

-Dorio is the most concerned for your wellbeing out of the girls, what with her being one of the more sympathetic members of the crew, not that it's a very high bar.

"You okay? Figure something like that would fuck you up good..."

-She often reminds you that she's always there for you if you need someone to talk to about it. Sure, she can't really empathise with your exact situation, heck, there's probably no one else on earth that could, but she'll still do her best. Even if you just need a shoulder to lean on, she's happy to provide one for you any time.

-If anyone ever tries to pick on you because of who your father is, or even just because of how absent he is, she makes sure that they soon regret it. She'll hold back if you ask her to, at least in front of you. Once they're alone and you're somewhere else, she's very eager to continue teaching them a lesson.

-If your mother is out of the picture as well, either because she's also absent or because she's dead (she certainly wouldn't put it past someone like Smasher), she'll try her hardest to be one for you if you want her to. She's not exactly the greatest at it, but just the fact that she tries is enough.

Kiwi

-When you first tell Kiwi you're Adam Smasher's kid, all she does is give you a side-eye that seems to say "If you're going to lie to me, at least try to make it sound believable".

-After some more convincing from you, and quite a bit of personal digging on her part, she eventually believes you. Or at least, she knows you aren't lying. Believing that Adam Smasher had a kid that just so happened to end up on Maine's doorstep is another thing altogether.

"...So, I guess you take more after your mother, huh?"

-If you're seeking advice or consolation for your...predicament, she recommends you go to one of the other members of the crew. Comfort really isn't Kiwi's strong suit, something even she'll admit, and if you're willing to trust her with your secret, trusting the others should be easy.

-If you're persistent in coming to her, though, she'll invite you to smoke with her in silence on occasion. Failing that, the most affection she can muster is a few head pats and a "there, there" in a tone that's slightly warmer than her usual one.

Summary: In a way, you found a way through the healing process of your parents being gone, though it leads you to the dark.

Note: Kind of ran with this idea. Started out fluff, then turned into...well, how Backrooms descended into a nihilistic chaos realm. The reader is 18, as I'm not comfy doing younger readers.

MASSIVE SPOILERS FOR THE FILM

Clark

He hires you at Cap'n Clark's Ottoman Empire.

It's not even a sympathy hire - though that becomes it much later - it's more just that he sees something in you; someone lost, who sort of gave up on life despite your young age.

Due to the small town your guys live in, he remembers your last name from the news (he stayed up late once in the store, drinking his life away, when he say the report of your parents dying in a car crash and your being the survivor).

You, being their legacy, felt like you owed them something. To make something of yourself.

When Katherine comes in, she befriends you - at first by his wish, then just as she gets to know you.

Through her, Clark learns that you have nowhere to stay.

She offers her bit, but Clark gently shuts it down, not wanting the smoking influence of her and Bobby to infect you as he calls it.

While offended, she agrees.

He tells her he'll sort something out.

"You can stay here," he says, "never have to be late to work. Never have to earn your keep. Never have to change. Just...be."

Out of options, and the first person - aside from Kat, to just...replace was the wrong word, but fill that void - was there.

So, his...home, becomes yours.

In an attempt to bond, he tells you about his divorce - about how his wife never got off "her fat arse" to help him, gesturing around the store as if it proves that he is a sort of "architect".

"Where do you go?" you ask him.

"Fuck does that mean?" he asks, taking a swig and offering you one. You take it.

"When we close, you come back from somewhere."

"Therapy," he says, "I see a shrink. Divorce shrink. Why, you wanna go?"

You shrug. Maybe.

"No," he says, "No, you've got me. She'll just spin it around to be your fault somehow. Tell you that you grabbed the wheel or something."

You go to sleep, slightly buzzed, but feel him pull the cover over you.

The next morning, he gestures for you to follow him. Doing so, he shows you an odd object in the electrical box - a thing that is out of place.

You try to remove it with your nails, only for one to chip.

"Hey, easy. Be careful," he chides.

"Sorry," you say.

"Look, we'll sort this shit out later, ok? Lights are back on. Let's just go film this promo. You like filming, yeah?"

You nod.

"Can even help block it, if you want? Be the youngest director ever?"

To your surprise, Bobby and Kat listen to your ideas.

The chair still breaks, though, and Clark snaps.

His face when you tell him softly that you're already open makes you feel the whole world collapse. He's trying. He's trying.

People do come in, just not many.

Still, when he looks up to see you helping them out with enthusiasm, he smiles.

"Looking at goofball over there?" Kat asks, flipping through her magazine.

"I don't think I've ever seen anyone be so alive as they were with us and filming that advert."

Kat lowers the magazine, looking at you, watching the people leave with a certain sadness.

"They're a good kid."

"Aren't you like, their age?"

"You say that as if you're pushing old."

"That's the nicest thing you've anyone has ever said to me."

"...Ok. Look, I'm 20, kids not. Hence...kid and goofball."

"You have any siblings?"

"Nope," she says, popping the bubble gum in her mouth.

"What about you? Any kids?"

Clark goes silent.

"Sorry," she says. "...Yeah," he says. Moment over. "They deserve the world, and look what it took."

"Getting real philosophical, boss."

Clark snorts, that childlike part of him still being there.

Still, though, he knows it, and Kat knows it: how he looks after you, even gave you a place to stay.

She never says it: never voices how it slightly unnerved her that you slept where you worked - she didn't know about Clark doing it - but with how the town could be...

The shift was ended, and you both found yourself having a drink again - one bottle between you both; he liked to tell himself he was responsible, damn it.

The lights once again went out, but not before the TV flickered - a space that you had never seen before appeared on it.

You both go downstairs, he leading the way a bit as you trembled a small bit in the dark.

"Don't worry," he whispered, "I won't let anything happen to you."

The light upstairs comes back on, but another appears.

An impossible one. Through a crack in the wall that shouldn't be there.

His hand phases through first. He then gestures for you to try. Yours goes through as well.

He gestures for you to get back.

"I'll see what's happening. I'll be back, I promise."

"Wait --"

"I'm not dying ok. But I'm not...I'm not having you die either."

You look at him in a new light: he really does care.

It's not healthy, you know that - how you both latched onto each other as this sort of..figure in your life.

His wife left him, and he never had a kid. Then you came along.

You lost your parents, and then he came along.

"Be careful," you said, sounding younger than you actually were - you felt like the age you were when your parents died.

This man gave you a space to call your own; he made sure you had drink (the non-healthy kind) and food ("whatever you wanted," he said to that).

Still, he...he filled that void.

He nods before going through.

He's been gone a while.

He does come back, though, panting and holding a stool, but he does come back.

His reaction, after sitting on the stool he brings back, is to laugh and clap his hands.

"Oh. Oh, you have to see this."

You do...and you're enamoured.

It's empty, but endless.

It feels comforting, oddly.

You find things. Items clipped through each other.

"No one will ever believe this shit", you say.

"Language," he says, even if he lets out a 'shit' as he trips over a clipped-in table.

However, you notice how...he becomes with it.

He only ever wants to go back.

Making the map? Makes sense. It helps.

But, there is a look in his eyes. Not one of the child-like glee that you put it to before.

But one of control, like he is the master of this world that you don't understand.

"What if we documented it?" you asked.

"It'll certainly boost sales," he jokes, but you see him buzzing with excitement at the idea.

He visits the only other people he knows who have a camera.

So, your gang is assembled.

Kat is, understandably, freaked out.

Clark calls for you all to hurry up.

"Hey," you say, "I get it. It's fucking weird. But, look, we're here, ok? I'm here."

There was something about the fact that you: A) stayed, and B) still had that innocence to you.

Maybe Clark was wrong; it hadn't all been stripped away.

So, under your commitment, she entered the Backrooms.

You were last.

"Fucking finally," Clark said, "this way."

When he mentions the pool, you have a brain flicker, like you can't fully remember that place.

Kat notices, "Goofball?"

"They're fine," he snaps, "aren't you?"

You nod. You've never seen him this way before.

He doesn't even say sorry.

You hear Kat and Bobby talking behind you, Bobby even zooming the camera in on you a bit.

You just follow Clark, watching him go to places you don't really recognise - yet you sort of do.

You pause, the couple bumping into you.

"What's that?" Bobby asks, zooming in on the car.

Your breath picks up.

Clark walks over, standing in front of you, "That's the car that killed their parents."

You gulp and feel Kat put a hand on your shoulder.

"Just give them a minute," Kat says.

Clark agrees, but you hear him huff a bit.

Kat then turns you around, "Hey, look at me," she says, hand going on your cheek, "you're ok. You're with us."

Bobby zooms him. He knows about your friendship and her caring nature, so he's not jealous.

However-- "We done?" Clark asks, though a tad gentler than before.

"Sorry," you say.

"It's fine," he says, continuing on.

Kat squeezes your hand. Bobby even pats your back.

You then make it to a steep incline.

Bobby agrees to go down, seeing you still shaken from before.

He goes down, only to then ask to be taken back up.

Kat tries to calm him down, and you repay him for before with a hand on his arm - only for Clark to constantly try and ask Bobby what he saw.

"Dad -"

Bobby is dragged down. You and Kat hold onto him, only for Clark to pull you back. "I'm stronger," he says.

You notice his grip is much looser than yours.

Bobby goes down the incline, and you all soon follow - though not by choice.

Kat sprints after him.

You get up, Clark grabbing your arm once you do and telling you one thing:

"Stay close to me."

You do, Clark, holding the camera now.

In the Christmas tree room, a creature follows you. You trip trying to get in.

Clark tells you to "hurry the fuck up!" before closing the door once you get through.

He then slips. You remember a vague and distorted memory of this room.

Kat calls to you both from the other side, though you can't see her.

The last thing you hear before a large blackout is, "behind you!"

Coming back, you're in a chair, and a woman is sitting to your left - a human and living one to be clear.

You feel your breathing pick up: pieces of memories are coming back, some overlapping with your crash - you can even see a shard of glass on the table.

You hear talking. You look to Clark, the man who took you in and gave you a semblance of a fam--

"Stop fucking crying!" he yells, slamming the table.

You flinch. You flinch from the man you attached yourself to as a father figure.

He looks back at Mary.

"You'd say it's their fault the crash happened, just like my wife would be mine!"

He looks to you, "I told you, we don't have to change," he says, with a sadistic yet soft smile on his face.

It's the last time you see him, as he is eaten just after by an entity that looks just like him.

Instinct takes over, and you run with Mary.

Pirate Clark almost gets you a few times, but Mary drags you away from his cold and deadly grip.

"This way!" you yell, remembering bits and pieces of this place.

Mary almost falls entering the pit, but you stop her.

You escape, barely.

Phil enters the room.

You look at the table, once again frozen.

"What was your relationship to Mr --"

"What's a parent?"

"...I'm sorry?"

"A parent, what is one?"

Phil is lost for words for a few moments, until he answers:

"Someone who...I guess loves a kid so deeply they'd do anything to make sure they get a nice meal."

You nod, meeting his eyes, "I guess he...he was that. Or, wanted to be. I don't know, we were both messed up."

"I mean, with how long you...stayed in...anyone would be."

He leans forward, "Can I ask...how did you not, like, lose it?"

You looked at him, then to a big black window.

Her, that was how.

Mary.

Let's go back to that therapist that Clark mentioned before..

Mary

Yeah, remember how you agreed not to go see that therapist lady that Clark said about?

You lied.

Clark had passed out, not that it was exactly a rare occurrence, and you had a business card on the bed.

You picked it up before going to the desk phone in the store.

"...Clark? It's 10pm and --"

"It's not --" you stuttered, "it's not Clark."

She sounded more awake then, "May I ask who this is, please?"

You introduced yourself.

"You're his child..."

"Oh...no, not really. I work and live at the store."

"You live at the store?"

"...Yes?"

There's a silence on her end of the line.

"Uh, hello --"

"Clark talks about you a lot. I know there is client confidentiality, but...it must weigh on you."

You look to him again, hearing him snore.

"He helped me."

"I - I know," she says in a soft voice, "look, I, I don't mean to assume, but...if you would like some free sessions, either in person or over the phone like this...I can try to offer some help."

"Oh..." This is the second person to do that.

"He doesn't have to know. I won't tell him, I promise."

"'Client confidentiality'?"

"Client confidentiality." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You take her up on that offer, calling her some nights.

It becomes a routine - and a place of safety for you in a way.

You can talk about the crash, your guilt about it, and how you sometimes wish you had died in it.

She doesn't offer pity, she offers advice. Genuine advice.

"Don't keep it to yourself. You don't have to tell anyone if you don't wish to - but letting yourself drown in the despair, self-hatred and suicidal thoughts will only continue them."

"Then what makes them easier?"

"While it may not have them go away: connections."

In a later talk, you tell her about Kat, the one other friend that you have.

"How does she make you feel?"

"'Make me feel'?"

"Do you feel attraction to her?"

"That's blunt."

"We usually are in these talks, remember?"

You are, but for some reason, part of you forgot that.

"No. No, no attraction. I just like being her friend."

"I'm glad you have someone at least."

"Is Clark not enough?"

"I think putting all of your emotional recovery into one relationship, especially one as dependent as yours, would not be the most healthy of ideas."

"Hm."

There's a gap in the calls, and it's when you find the Backrooms.

"Clark and I found something."

"What did you find?"

"A...place. But one that shouldn't exist."

You hear her inhale.

"...Go on," she says, shakily.

You tell her what you can remember, and Clark's reaction to it.

When the session ends, you hear her voice shake more. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Remember that black out point I mentioned before? That gap when you were in the pool room?

Well...

Mary had become concerned, very concerned.

She hadn't had any sessions with Clark, nor a call from you.

The only call that she did get was one about Clark "opening a window."

She rushed to your store, finding the stacks of letters not even taken inside.

Just as she looked back up, the door was barged into.

You were trying to get out.

She opened the door, putting her hands on your arms.

"What? What's wrong?!" she asked. Yes, client boundaries, but you were freaking out about something.

"I -- we need to -- Kat...oh my god."

"Breathe," she said in a soft tone, "breathe."

"You're safer inside," you said.

She went fully still. That was what her mother said.

Still, seeing you in this state, and with no Clark, she follows.

She tries to ask you what's happening, but you can't answer.

You're in a state of traumatic response.

"I need you to believe me," you said.

She nodded, "I do. I do, I promise."

You go through the door. She gasps.

Then she follows.

"It's moved," you say.

"What - what's moved?"

You point, and she looks: your parents' car. It has more detail on it, the front windshield cracked exactly as it was on that night.

"I don't like remembering it," you say, "it's like I opened a window to something darker."

She turns you around, ditching her degree and role, and instead just being a human being in this moment:

"Listen to me, this was not your fault. You couldn't have done anything more or less. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry about what happened, but you didn't deserve it."

For a moment, you change when she blinks, and she's looking at her younger self.

She blinks again, and it's you.

When you both reach the wall of scribbles, she turns back to ask you, only to see you're gone.

Clark then appears.

"Where are they?"

"Safe," is all he says.

She loses consciousness the next moment.

Waking up, she's in the kitchen, with you slumped on the table.

"What did you do to them?!" she exclaims.

"Don't wake them," he warns.

"Now, this is the fucking life that I wanted - if my wife --" he then pauses, cutting the hair off of the life form of his wife and putting the hair on top of her.

"Now, let's do a role play here with our child in between."

You'd woken up during that hair exchange, but she could tell you weren't listening - in full dissociation mode.

So, she returns to her job one more time, this time, to save you both. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------

She tells Clark, bluntly, that his was his fault - that he is is brain that and he caused the split up with his wife due to the whining.

His projection onto you? A way for him to absolve himself, to make it work with you instead and heal a part of himself that won't ever be full.

Just like she won't be, even if she had flashes of herself.

You're your own person - your own entity.

When Pirate Clark eats human Clark, she sees you struggling with your restraints.

She runs over, helping you get them off before pushing you in front of her.

When she trips, you help her up.

You trip up a slope to the door, and you crawl as a last-ditch effort.

With all her might, she pulls you through the flap, catching you before you fall.

When you're back in the store, she puts you behind her, telling you to focus on finding an exit.

Once through, you both are, of course, knocked out by gas, but she feels your hand go into her own just as you both slip away.

Meeting Phil, she answers what she can before asking where you are.

He looks to the glass in the corner, obviously where his bosses are.

She looks to the glass to her right. You're in there, alone and scared.

She looks back at him.

He nods, "ok, yeah. I'll let you see them after I talk to them."

Even he seems to know that your bond with her is built on both trauma and an understanding that no one else will get it.

You have each other now.

It might not fully heal anything or fix everything - or anything.

But you're not as alone.

That's something...isn't it?

She stared at her old body’s corpse, the smoking hole in its forehead dripping blood… and smiled.

Mockingly, she threw the little empty bottle at her corpse. It hitting her head and gently falling right next to her blood stained hand.

It was a pity, really.

She didn’t know how to effectively use the magic, and even after all the effort, she was undone by the smallest of things.

Not to mention, she came all this way for nothing.

Even if she actually managed to corner her, catch her with no way out, did she REALLY think that she would give her body back?

She gave it to her in the first place.

Why should she have to give it back?

Sure, she was kind.

But she was also STUPID.

Using magic that she had used for centuries? Trying to trap her in her own house?

“Heh.”

‘She really was pathetically hopeless, even compared to me.’ She thought.

“Viola, I told you not to enter these woods!” Viola’s- no. HER daddy kneeled down and held her by her shoulders, letting his rifle drop to the ground without care.

He spoke stern, but in the air of worry and relief, not anger.

“I-I’m sorry, daddy.” She spoke feigning fear and aftershock of the ‘witch’ attacking her.

He brought her in and hugged her close, parental relief coating his voice “I was so scared, I thought I’d lost you.”

“Cmon.” Picking up his rifle and looping it around his shoulder he stood and lead her. Close to him, thinking his ‘daughter’ truly was traumatized from the experience.

“Let’s go home.”

They walked through the dark woods, the further they got from the house the less grim and chilling the world became. As they came to the clearing that lead to their new home she heard someone.

“Viola!” She could barely register who called ‘her’ name before she was picked up in a hug by a boy similar her size.

“I’m so glad you’re okay!” A village-boy, evidently a friend of Viola… now her.

“The monster, I-it didn’t hurt you, did it?” He put her down and examined her.

“No, I’m okay.” She beamed, examining the boy back. A handsome young village-boy similar her age, with e/c eyes and h/c and h/s hair.

By the way he looked at her, she could tell they were more than friends.

This body really, truly, could by loved.

And by hell was she ever gonna let it go.

“I know you said she was just misunderstood, but I knew there was something dark behind those golden eyes.” He said…

Well, he wasn’t wrong.

“Don’t worry.” She smiled.

“I’ll never go back into those woods ever again.”

Y/n smiled back and hugged her again. A soft hug that gave her a warm fuzzy feeling.

The warm embrace reminded her of…

“Thank you, Y/n, for telling me where she was.” Her dad told Y/n when they exited their hug.

He ruffled Y/n’s hair.

“It’s thanks to you my daughter survived.”

“I-it’s nothing, sir. You’re the one that stopped that monster!” He smiled, abashed.

“Come on, it’s time that we leave this forest and never return.” Her father said as he walked into the sunlight out of the shadows of the woods.

“Agreed!” Y/n said, evident relief that they could finally put that nightmare behind them.

Ellen giggled and attempted to follow her new dad into the sunlight.

“W-wait!” Y/n grabbed her wrist.

“W-what about the Warlock?” Y/n whispered to her. “He could still be out there!”

Ellen stood, frigid.

“H-he’s gone too. He died in the house.” She lied.

Y/n sighed in relief before letting out a scoff. “Pfft, what a fool! Dying in his own house! Ha!”

“E-ehe, yeah…” she felt a sliver of guilt… talking about him that way.

But just a sliver…

“Well, cmon, let’s go!” Y/n said ushering her along as he skipped and ran out into the sunlight.

Ellen giggled at her new friend’s antics as she began to walk into the light as well.

Then she stopped. One foot still in the shadows…

Y/n…

He was there for her… when no one else was…

Her first friend, the only person who loved her for herself and not just out of pity…

A kind, golden soul…

She looked back into the darkness of the woods.

He do that thing where he gently grabbed their hand and kissed the top of it, he’d bow, he’d address them as “lady [name]”, and because of this he kinda gained the affection of every girl he met with, but he had something special with Mitsuri that he didn’t have with anyone else, and because of this, she kind of gained a big crush on him. She’d try to remain calm in front of him, but she just couldn’t. She’d end up giving him bone crushing hugs where she lift him off his feet, and she’d always praise him, and he didn’t mind of course. There came a time when they were both sitting together in a pretty isolated area and Mitsuri told him that there was a time where someone rejected her because of her appearance (how the hell could he?! LOOK AT HER, SHES PERFECT!) and her above average strength and she asked Y/n if he thought her appearance was weird, and after a comedic pause Y/n just said “… M-Mitsuri, y-you remember I’m blind, right?” And Mitsuri became very embarrassed, but then Y/n gently placed his hands upon her face and gently ran his thumbs over her cheeks and he said, “But from what I can feel, you’re the most beautiful girl I’ve ever met.” Then she started to tear up and lunged forward and showered him with kisses! And from then on, they entered their official relationship, the incredibly strong female with the seemingly weak male. They had a really adorable relationship, but here’s the thing with Mitsuri… She kind of viewed Y/n as helpless. She was told by others that he was an incredibly skilled and strong demon slayer, but she just couldn’t believe it. I mean, to put it into perspective, he would be heading out of the door, but before he could he’d bump into the adjacent walls at least six times before he finally made it out. He couldn’t eat on his own because he just ended up bashing his chopsticks to the table and completely miss his bowl. She loved him, but she was a bit patronizing with him (not that he minded), whenever he wasn’t in her direct line of sight she’d panic and rally others to look for him, and even when he was, she still wouldn’t feel comfortable unless he was within 6 or even 3 feet of her. She always felt that she needed to protect him, but there was a time when they had ran into a particularly strong demon. While she was ready to defend her lover with her life. Suddenly, he gained a serious face and absolutely obliterated the demon leaving nothing but smoke and ash in his wake, but after the fight he went back to being completely oblivious of his surroundings and being unaware of where Mitsuri was (because that wasn’t just a front to make people think he’s weak, just in any other situation that isn’t fighting, he genuinely is helpless) While she praised him and hugged him and gave him plenty of kisses as she knew now that he was strong enough to defend himself, she never really grew out of her protective ways, but Y/n wouldn’t have it any other way.

A/n:seriously the guy who rejected mitsuri has to have done the biggest fumble of all time, she's beautiful, she's kind, she's sweet she's strong, she's loving and she confessed to you...and you reject her!? I am mad on her behalf.

Misturi first met you when she was on a mission with some other hashiras, she saw you were injured by a demon and immediately rushed in to help you (noticing just how handsome you were in the meantime) and told everyone else about you. After bringing you back to hq and having shinobu heal you mitsuri decided to have a conversation with you once you woke up

"Thank you again for helping me"

"Don't worry it's our job as hashiras to protect people from demons"

"Hashiras? So am I at their headquarters now?"

Mitsuri nodded a bit confused by the fact that you didn't recognize her as a hashira or the place around you, maybe it had something to do with the fact that you generally didn't seem to be looking at her at all

"..............."

"................"

"........so?"

"O-oh sorry yes"

Now she was even more confused by the fact that you seemingly didn't understand or react to her nod

"I'm really glad to be here then, you're the ones that inspired me to be a demon slayer in the first place"

"You're a demon slayer?"

"Yes, when you found me I had just finished killing a hoard of demons that was attacking a nearby village, it seems like i sustained some injuries though"

With that discovery made now a lot of things made more sense, you did have some similarities to gyomei, your eyes especially, she noticed this when she found herself staring into them, they were very pretty just like your face was....and the rest of your body not to mention your personality

You were so nice and kind hearted, she couldn't believe that someone could be so genuinely handsome and good at the same time and even with your condition, somehow all the times you bumped into the door trying to enter a room or failed to notice someone in front of you made you that much cuter

Mitsuri already knew she was in love with you and not like with one of the mild crushes she had felt for a good amount of people before, this was pure incredibly strong love and she just couldn't contain in

Whenever you smiled at her or did something cute she couldn't help but hug you incredibly tightly, something you had to get used to as you literally couldn't see them coming

She couldn't help it, you were so adorable she wanted to squeeze you and kiss you all over that cute face of yours, she loved you so much....but she didn't know if you felt the same and she was absolutely terrified at the idea of getting rejected again..speaking of one day she was telling you about that

".....really? You got rejected? i can't believe it, you seem so nice"

"Y-yeah i think it was because I look weird....and am stronger than most men I meet.....it really hurt at the time"

Misturi decided to take this chance she had, she looked towards you and took a deep breath

The silence that followed made mitsuri think you though the same as the man who rejected her and just didn't want to say it to not be rude so she lowered her head and frowned at least that was until you spoke again

".....mitsuri...... you remember I'm blind right?"

"...........AAAAHHH I'm so sorry"

She started putting her head in her hands and shaking it violently while blushing embarrassed, she couldn't believe she had forgotten something so important, it was in the heat of thee moment and she didn't fully think about what to say so...

Her nervous thoughts however were interrupted by you placing your hands on her head and around her cheeks, you started touching her face as she blushed even more

"But from what I can feel you're the most beautiful girl I ever met"

Misturi's face was now completely red even if you couldn't see it. She felt hearts floating all around her and her chest getting warmer, she couldn't control her instincts anymore and so she kissed you, you were surprised at first mostly cause you couldn't see it coming but you kissed back

And so with that impromptu confession your relationship started, and it was an incredibly happy time for the both of you. Mitsuri now finally had someone who she could call her love and who loved her back, she couldn't be happier to have you...and so obviously that happiness and love came with a bit of protectiveness

She was very protective of you not only because she loved you so so much but also because she was worried about you with you being blind and so....clumsy with daily tasks that she couldn't help but worry about whatever you did and wherever you went

If she didn't see you in the same room as her she instantly got worried and went to look for you and even when you were, she still insisted on being as close to you as possible...maybe even hugging you just to make sure you stayed safe of course, and it's not like you particularly minded

Whenever you had to eat she always insisted on helping you both because you struggled to hold your chopsticks and because misturi really loves feeding you especially if it's something she made

And in general she always helped you walk in and out of any room you were in even if you always told her that you could do that on your own the amount of times you bumped into the door or the wall convinced her to accompany you, just to be safe

Even if she knew you were a demon slayer being completely honest she couldn't help but be worried whenever you went on a mission and even if when you went with another hashira they told her of just how strong you were and of you being even an hashira level demon slayer, she couldn't fully believe it, sure she knew gyomei had practically the same issue as you and he was the strongest hashira but he didn't make the same mistakes you did, you just looked and acted like a normal blind person and that's what made mitsuri so worried

At least that was until the first mission you were assigned to go on together, the whole time mitsuri stayed ahead of you to protect you and told you to be careful even when you went up against the demon itself

"Stay back y/n! I'll take care of this the demon is strong!"

She said as she took out her sword/whip and used her other hand to shield you but to her surprise you still went ahead to face the demon

"Y/n! What are you-"

"Don't worry mitsuri, I can handle it"

Before mitsuri could get ahead of you or do anything else you unsheated your sword and got ready as the demon tried to strike you

"Y/N!!!"

In a flash you disappeared and the demon head landed on the ground when mitsuri saw you again you weren't even covered in blood or injuries and were just standing in front of the demon as you sheathed back your sword

".....wha....."

You turned towards her and started to look around you

".....sorry mitsuri where are you now? I kinda got distracted"

To your shock mitsuri immediately ran on you and hugged you incredibly tightly even more than usual

"Y/NNNNNN!!! YOU'RE SO STRONG! I'm sorry i ever doubted you ahhhhh I love you stoooo much!!! Please marry me"

"S-sorry mitsuri but I can't breathe"

"Ah"

The love hashira released you from her embrace and giggled embarrassed

"S-sorry"

"Don't be it's alright and I'm glad I could protect you"

"And I'm so so glad to discover how strong you are! That's exactly what I look for in a man!"

"Oh really?"

"Yesssss!!! You're the man of my dreams! I promise I'll protect you and love you forever y/n"

I was reading up on the wiki and apparently Ellen’s birthday is June 13th sooo… celebrating Ellen‘s birthday request! It could be anything you want, since I sprung this on you so abruptly, I’m leaving it open to be whatever you want it to be!

Celebrating Ellen's birthday

A/n:I had no idea Ellen had a canon birthday but happy birthday to the little witch girl. Sorry if this isn't big or good enough but I don't have much time to write right now, still i wanted to do something so I hope you like it

Ellen never really had a birthday before she became a witch, partly because of her neglectful parents but mostly because you can't really do much when you're bedridden practically 24/7 you didn't even know when her birthday was until she told you because it was close

And she didn't even expect you to do something big for it. While she of course would have liked to have a birthday party like she saw all of the other "normal" kids have it wasn't that big of a deal now.

But you thought about it completely differently. The fact that ellen never had a real birthday was a crime in your eyes and one that must be rectified so you resolved to give her the best birthdays a witch could have until the end of time

First of all you enlisted the demon's help to 1)make sure ellen didn't know about the party and 2)teach you some spells that could help and although reluctant he accepted

When the 13th of june finally came you spent the entirety of the day wishing her happy birthday and trying to get her as excited for the day as you were

When you finished setting everything up you let her enter the living room where you had put all of her gifts and the cake and she genuinely couldn't believe you had done so much for this day

"Y/n....is this all seriously for me?"

"Of course, do you know any other witch who is celebrating her birthday today?"

"I-i just.....thank you I don't know if i ever got so much done for me...back when I was still in bed I couldn't have even dreamt of all this"

"Well now it's real, and it will be for however long we live together...you deserve it ellen, no you deserve even more than this and I will give you everything and more! Especially on special days like this"

You then spent the rest of the day eating cake, opening and playing with all of her presents and trying out new spells that could make her birthday even more spectacular like making fireworks inside the house or turning the floor bouncy so that you can jump around

From that day on every year after ellen looked forward to all her birthdays so that she could spend another special day with you
