Immersion (Log #2)
Picky and spoiled would be an understatement as my thirst for getting lost in a game has never quite been quenched. From Fallout to Bioshock to Wind Waker to Portal and everything in between the experience that a well thought out game can bring is nothing short of an interactive daydream. Stories and Hypotheticals were always a deep craving from a young age and still even today. A part to play in a world outside of our own. You forget the reality you knew and almost except this new one, that is if it hasn't been spoon fed to you. Often times in my younger years I'd find myself glued to a reality I wanted more and more of. Too many reasons why so many of us wished these to be true. Movies have portrayed well what might be the consequences of such an attachment. To those from younger generations these were our movies growing up, these games played a role in our social interactions with friends and family. The benefit could be outweighed as you age into adulthood but formed and sparked creativity nonetheless. Could we say these hypotheticals were immersive enough to shape some part of our reality today? I never took a moment for granted and will continue my journey on new worlds to come.
All the best,
M. C. Therman
