Fashion today, fashion tomorrow

Fashion is always changing, remaining slightly elusive and extremely seductive. Now, it's all about sports wear. We have recently seen baseball jackets, track pants, and even sweatpants go down the runway. The fashion world has woken up to a trend that’s driven strong sales at Nike Inc., Lululemon Athletica Inc. and Under Armour Inc. for the past couple of years: increasingly, men and women are trading in jeans for sweatpants, yoga gear and shorts and unapologetically wearing them anywhere and everywhere.

With Activewear sales growing more than four times as fast as the $201 billion U.S. apparel industry, according to NPD Group Inc., it’s not hard to see why designers from Cynthia Rowley to Todd Snyder planned to show so-called haute-casual or sports-deluxe clothes at fashion week, which ran Feb. 6 through Feb. 13.

The world of fashion, which was never about comfort, is really changing. “It’s huge,” said Roseanne Morrison, a fashion director at the Doneger Group, a New York-based researcher of industry trends. “It’s the new uniform.” 

I really like the idea that people are focusing more on comfort than trying to put themselves in a pair of super tight skinny jeans that they can't walk in. But this does not provide you basic bitches an excuse to wear yoga pants with a pair of Uggs everyday. Yes, you heard me correctly: I'm going to need you to do better. Do not force me to call the fashion police and tell them about the mess that you're wearing. Say this with me: "elevate". Mix and match them properly and be creative! There is always a way to elevate clothes and look cute and cool, but really comfy.
