Guys, the more I think about it, I feel like Byler WAS supposed to be endgame and absolutely essential to the plot/defeating Vecna. And this was the case even while into filming season 5, and maybe before starting volume 2 they were forced to change it. That’s why the plot is so terrible and the writing is so terrible after volume 2. It was thrown together last minute. That’s why none of interviews with the actors don’t line up with what we saw. There was a different script. After volume 1, It literally feels like A DIFFERENT SHOW. The avalanche scene… all of it set Byler up perfectly. Something must’ve happened.

If any writers out there, or anyone really, could explain something to me… Moments before El sacrifices herself, she tells Mike “I love you” and he doesn’t say it back. Even in her final moments, he can’t say it back. The Duffers made this CHOICE, for him to not say it back. Why?? Why why why why why? If they wanted to prove it had always been El for him, that would’ve been an easy moment to do it. What are the implications of this? Why make that choice?

Maybe they are just shit writers and literary forgot, or all the takes were so bad.. that was the only acceptable one 💀 but still I can’t understand that choice

And they fumbled their “emotional Mileven moment” at the end, because THEY BARELY INTERACTED throughout the season!! Literally why should we care!! We didn’t even know if they were together!! And all at the cost of intentionally queer baiting. I hope they’re happy with themselves. No one won.

Hey so… can anyone tell me what Mike Wheeler’s character arc was for the final season?

You cannot tell me that the finale highlighted their central message “Can love defeat fear”.. because what? That was the whole point of the show and they just defeated Vecna/the MF with a flame thrower and bullets and El. Where was the love? The friendship?

Can we also talk about how Will’s coming out scene did absolutelyyyyyy nothing narratively for the final fight? They said he NEEDED to do that in order to fight Vecna, mind you Vecna was completely unconcerned with Will nor his powers the entire finale 😭 so they made him do that for what???
