Following the success of UBUNTU Wound Healing in 2010 and the Advanced Lower Limb Conference in 2011, it was clear that we now needed to focus on Managing Diabetes and Foot care. By bringing Africa together at the CSIR international convention centre in Pretoria, Gauteng we are able to provide a scientifically based educational platform for all involved with Diabetes as a whole.
The focus of this conference is to provide working solutions to managing the complicated diabetic patient with wounds. Following the WHASA consensus meeting in February 2013, this event provides the opportunity to share guidelines applicable to the African continent.
Topics will be covered by an Interdisciplinary team and will range from Epidemiology to Rehabilitation.
We are also fortunate to have the Pan-African Diabetic Foot Study Group (PADFSG) EXCO at the conference. Through their collaboration a key session will comprise of feedback with regards to working solutions across Africa. Key note speakers includes Dr. ZG Abbas (PADFSG President), Dr. L Tudhope (PADFSG President-elect), Liezl Naude (WHASA Past President).
