Elite: Dangerous inspired phone wallpaper/lock screens.
Trying to get back into the swing of making things outside of work, and I’ve been loving Elite so far.
Its been too long. I recently posted this to my portfolio on Behance.net so I will just copy paste my description from there.
Elite: Dangerous by Frontier Developments has become one of my favourite games. Having also recently played the new Assassin's Creed Unity it got my thinking about companion apps, and how Elite would benefit from having one. There is a large amount of imformation that the players need to keep track of to get the most out of several aspects of the game (such as trading).
My idea for the companion app combines the in-game map of the milky way galaxy with Frontier's Galnet - an in-universe news agency - RSS feed. Allowing players to keep track of trade lanes and events that might influence prices. There a few features that are yet to be designed, including a Character profile and ship specs page. And then expanding into including the pilot tutorial videos previous created by Frontier.
The design of the app currently comes in two 'themes', Black and orange, which I believe to be in-keeping with Elite's current UI design. And Red and White, providing a contrast to the normally dark colours of the game, it could also be considered the 'in-universe' brand colours for the Pilots Federation. although that is just my personal thoughts.
Finally, it must be said that I do not work for Frontier Developments, I am not affiliated with they in any way. these designs are NOT official. I am simply and fan of the game, and a designer as well.

Texture pop in out the ass.
personally thought they should have waited for the next gen consoles so that they could reduce pop in and glitches due to texture/asset streaming.
