I named my Imp Eagle "Kobrastochka"
It's named after the P39A Airacobra, which gained the nickname "Dear Little Cobra" in Russian service.
"But Cap'n Jerry!" You squelch, knowing there are already two ships named Cobra in the game. "That's confusing!"
look man, it was a deliberate choice. the P39A was a very maneuverable, small fighter that russian pilots were able to make the killiest american plane of ww2.
I mean; look at this thing and be glad you're not on its list of shit to fuck up today. somewhere an engineer at bell had a stroke of brilliance, putting the Allison V-1710 V-12 behind the pilot, driving the propeller through a driveshaft and freeing up space for a 37mm cannon and two .50 Browning Ma Deuces in the nose. then they stuck two more in each wing for good measure.
But i bet you couldn't carry cargo in it worth a crap. To that end, when i think of E:D's Cobra, i think it's too good to be a kobrastochka. it does too much else too well. one look at an imp eagle and you know what you're looking at. a mid-engined sportscar with a rally pod filled with Tec-9's on the hood. the triangle is more like.....
....Well it's kind of like a C-130.
why a C-130? Well, i'm glad you asked. Because the C-130 will do anything you ask it to.
(The fulton system for extracting pilots)
(the AC-130 Flying artillery platform.)
No bullshit they even figured out how to get these big bastards to take off and land on a carrier with no arresting hook
So yeah, that's why i named an imp eagle after the P39 Airacobra. can we move on?
