Okay sorry I have more discourse thoughts.
On a post ages ago talking about dreblr/main dsmp fandom I said Dreblr was not a special club, that we were in the same room as the rest of the dsmp fandom, just like. In a corner and behind a curtain with a sign labeled "C!Dream fans here!" right beside it
Anyway, I think that the relationship between dteam fans and the wider mcyt community is very similar. They mostly treat us pretty badly and we don't want to be harassed, so we let ourselves settle behind a curtain, out of view and.... in theory out of mind.
But because we are all in there, from the outside it gets easier to see us as a single entity, not a bunch of random humans who like a thing, so a ton of people start treating us like we're part of Dream somehow, picking fights with random fan accounts like it's the CC himself. And it makes it easier to get things out of context, because people can only catch slips of conversation from beyond the curtain, out of context snippets that can be misunderstood as anything else (and it gets harder to really get any information from inside the curtain because... well, it is a curtain, but surely they will all notice and get upset if you try to get in right? Everyone says its dangerous in there, and you can't really see inside, so what if it really is? Better not to risk it)
Maybe that's why I got so many asks when I offered to just give information about what Dream said during the Dream/Tubbo streams. Idk
Overall: Isolation sucks and dehumanization sucks. It feels really bad to be able to recognize that you have been turned into "The Other" for a puritan campaign but not be able to do anything about it. Ough.
