So today on the MSR (Midnight Star Review), I would like to do my year-end special where I highlight the Artist Of The Year for 2024. There are 9 Artists we would like to talk about on this special. So let's get started right now.
Where to start but the first Artist who scored a number one this year. Nate Smith had chart success with "World on fire" which stayed on the top for a while at the start of the year. Then he also had chart success with "Bulletproof" which he had a version with Avril Lavigne.
Another artist we are going to talk about is one new to Country. And that is Post Malone. Post Malone has said in the past when he got older, he wanted to do a Country album. And he also had some help from Morgan Wallen with their same song "I had some help". And then he teamed up with Blake Shelton on "Pour me a drink".
Our next artist is Chris Stapleton. He teamed up with Carly Pearce on the song "We don't fight anymore" which combined two Kentucky Artists. And then he also did the cinematic song "White horse".
Lainey Wilson is our next Artist of the year. Lainey Wilson teamed up with fellow Artist of the Year Winner Jelly Roll on the song "Save me". And She also did the song "Wildflowers and wild horses" which also had chart success.
One of our last Artists to earn the right to Artist of the Year was George Birge. George Birge scored his first success with the song "Mind on you". And then towards the end of the year he scored success with "Cowboy songs".
Our next artist is Cody Johnson. Where we will talk about his first hit "The painter" which was really a tribute to his wife. And then he tugged on our heart strings with the song "Dirt cheap".
Luke Combs is another artist who earned the right. With his songs like "Ain't no love in Oklahoma". And a song for his brother I believe "Where the wild things are".
Our next artist who could be 1 of the artists who could be the Artist of the year for the entire year. Jelly Roll has had success with songs "Halfway to Hell", & "Save me" with Lainey Wilson. "I am not okay" is his most recent chart success.
And other artist who could be consider Artist of the year if I only had to choose one for the entire year. Morgan Wallen has had more chart success then anyone this past year. He did team up with Thomas Rhett on the song "Mamaw's house". Then he teamed up with Eric Church on the song "Man made a bar". Then he also teamed up with ERNEST on the song "Cowgirls". And of course the hit with Post Malone "I had some help", & his most recent chart success with the song "Lies lies lies".
