(TW: we are not keeping this kid-show friendly. Jay and Faust swear a lot and there will be graphic depictions of gore and violence and some discussion about mental illness (primarily depression) read the AO3 tags to stay up to date on the horrors that befall our hapless heroes)

I keep trying to draw stuff to promote Blackbird Acolytes because I know the TRUE way to get people to read is to first bribe them with a billion awesome illustrations but every time I try to draw the Blackbirds in question I just come up with stuff like this

Rad Red already had a lot going on in its life, what with trying to become the Ultimate Xero, but then, a strange shapeshifting creature began to appear in its dreams, calling starself “Carnival Gift” and taunting and teasing Rad about its lofty ambitions. They have something weird and queer happening between them I think.

The messed up semi-immortal warlock and the old and technically immortal dog that isn’t even his. What if the creature you related to the most was a traumatized dog from a Bag of Tricks. What if you related deeply to this creature kept alive forever because it is technically a spell and not an animal, what if purely by chance you could read its thoughts and know that above all it hates being used in combat, what if you decided to swear to this creature that it could forever stay out of the fight if it so chose. What then.

A mini PHM comic about Grace growing old. I wanted to explore two ideas: Rocky dealing with Grace’s dementia and Grace wanting to donate his body to science. I spend so much time on l figuring out the dialogue (some part still feel clunky to me) but I hope it express my thoughts on where I think Grace’s life would go :)
