i keep promising myself i won't become another technophobe yelling about those "dang newfangled machines" or whatever. that i won't Get Worse until going back to punchcards unironically seems like a good idea. that i'll enjoy new things as they come out.

but so much is actively evil, hostile or otherwise enshittified. i don't want to track my greebles with splorp i don't want to pay a teehee subscription to get round cacophany's file limits i don't need 17 ways to skrimple my scronk 7 of which secretly activate scrungly plus ultimate i don't need to link it to my flowolf account i don't want to manage it with the flowby mowby i don't care if poob does or does not has it for me. i don['t care

i want a big screen whose ENTIRE job is to show me whatever device i plug into it. and also audio. i want to save my documents. on the computer. that i'm using. i want to own the media i buy. i want tech that is fat, properly cooled, simpler, serviceable by a normal person, and not forcing me to constantly select the "onlly spy on me a little bit" box every couple weeks.

Marinette trying to convince Adrien that Gabriel loved him in his way is one thing, but seeing her saying the same to Kagami opens a lot of redflags, again, towards Tom and Sabine.

Because it's NOT ok that after seeing abuse, your reaction is to be "maybe is the way to say they love you". We know that Marinette's family had troubles (Rolland and his racism before he changed), we know that Tom and Sabine neglected Marinette when she was bullied by Chloé, we know how easily Tom and Sabine are to accept what others say about their daughter and berate her and how others have to act and protect Marinette and pay the consequences (Socqueline and Alya).

I used to be a victim of bullying and I remember so much how whenever someone bullied me that my mom was first thing going to the director's office to fight her for my well-being. Meanwhile, Tom and Sabine only care for her not to be expelled.

People get angry whenever I say that the Dupain-Cheng are not good parents but, listen, what Marinette is repeating is NOT ok. We even see it more with Max and his autism and how his mom does care about how he adapts, meanwhile Tom and Sabine don't even know how to regulate Marinette's needs even if they are aware of her behavior.

Im not saying they are monsters like Tomoe but they are neglectful. They probably don't know they are failing and that doesn't mean they don't love Marinette, but it's hurting her in the long run.

I hope the show dwelves more into this, since we are seeing family dynamics that aren't perfect and there's more to being a parent that just "make" a kid.
