What Is Sola's backstory? Also, are the PCs and NPCs paired up? Not necessarily in game currently, but does each PC have a counterpart?

Oh yes these are the dating sim npcs (most of them) lmao so each on was made with a specific pc in mind. 2/5 couples are cannon at this point. Sola is one of them! (Mostly haha)

Here’s the little backstory blurb my dm wrote about her:

**Now it’s time to reveal. Contestants, take one last request from your MC. Please tell us a little about yourselves before revealing to the Heroes who you are**

“Coming a long way from the Moonshae Isles, I come from the island of Gwynneth. The island most sacred to the Earthmother and once …the parley between the Faewild and the material plane. People started coming to the island, taking from her the most sacred of our treasures. The moonwells, the island responded with the Rusting. Now our groves are forced to live on the outskirts while we try to preserve what we can. My grove, my grandmother was a moonwell cleric. I am a moonwell cleric. My whole life was written to start and end on the island, protecting and maintaining the moonwell. My life changed when I met Alvarin. Then it changed again when I met her a second time. I’ve been lucky enough to live two lives, and I intend my second one to be much better. I’m a little lost at the moment, but taking a page out of Alvarin’s book, I think I’m going to travel with people for a bit and find who I’m really meant to be. I want to know about Sir Symon! Why did he become a knight? Does he feel bound by duty, or a (perceived?) debt, or anything else? Who was his bg3 counterpart?

I'm a sucker for a stoic knight, so i'm a bit biased for him, but everyone is lovely! (I think Callum is quite adorable too)

“He’s bg3 counter part is also Gale. Sorry my dnd players all romanced the wizard haha. But I will say Symon is the least Gale.

Symon became a knight really for his mother. His mother was an Evermeet elf, had an affair with a human and went to Faerun to spare herself and Symon any prejudice. They lived a humble life, and when she died, Symon buried her in Cormyr and has taken oath and honor to serve the country that became their home. A couple of tourney’s and journeys later, he’s a pretty damn good knight of the realm.

His only debt is to a noble house they gave him his start but he’s long past that debt.”

Oooooo questions~ I love learning more about you and your dms little guys™️. I would say a blanket question for each of npc would be: What question are the npc asking the players with their existence? And a less intense inquiry: what would their drink order be at a cafe?

“Short answer: I was competing with Tav x Bg3 companions so I had to go sicko mode

Big blanket answer: Knowing that everyone was using an oc from BG3 I focused on what part of that companion complimented their story and what parts made for a fun narrative.

Example: our first canon couples in Sola x Alvarin and Dev x Dorian.

Both Tavs romanced Gale but both npcs are different enough from each other and Gale. Sola is bringing out the kindness and optimism the Gale often boosts about the Tav and Dorian is smart, quippy and direct. Bringing out an ambitious and directness to steer the hero minded Dev to a kinder, well deserved future

Cafe part is easy:

Nero: says he wants nothing but secretly orders some sweet bullshit coffee

Sola: Hot matcha any weather it’s hot

Symon: black coffee and if he’s feeling special, a bread to go with it

Callum: orders the special bc he wants to know why it’s special today

Dorian: as a former barista something totally off menu but can be made with what they have

Giles: a water”

I could see Symon and Giles having that “weve never had a conversation longer then three sentences. Hes my best friend” type relationship but other then that??

Nero would actively be trying to spin him and Sola are besties and they’d develop a weird “he’s a reactive dog but he’s good” while also making Symon, Giles and Callum so uncomfortable.

Symon is probably the more reactive to anyone’s shenanigans.

Giles is tired and Sad(tm)

Callum would be universally the one everyone looks at and tells to “shut up already”

But like all dnd groups they’re family.

i literally love saying "ON IT BOSS!!!!!" whenever someone asks me to do something like i'm some sort of henchman. it doesn't matter if they're my boss or not for real even because in the moment they are, and whatever they requested of me i'm on it
