My pet Palisade headcanon is that Phrygian and Figure both have complicated but opposite relationships with gender....as Figure becomes more detached from their humanity and sees gender from the "outside" they find it harder to identify with he/him pronouns and just being a man in general, its not important to them anymore. Whereas Phrygian already WAS completely alienated from the concept of gender in the first place, the more time they spend with non-branched individuals and see how their identities shape them in more concrete ways, they start to appreciate gender and find it fascinating and begin to question if they might actually have one, ultimately culminating in the "I am branched MAN". I just think it's something Phrygian probably thought about a lot and just never got to actually talk to anyone about it which makes me sad anyway (also this explains why Keith would occasionally use he/him for Phrygian, like Phrygian was experimenting with pronouns themself)
The two moments that made me fall in love with Friends At The Table are
1) Mako and Aria go undercover to gather information as people interested in buying some robots and then make the mistake of signing a contract with their real names and being on the hook for a small company's worth of mining mechs.
2) when Lazer Ted brags that he hustles so hard that he has 15 jobs, and Mako asks what they ALL are forcing Austin (the GM) to come up with all 15 jobs on the spot.
Both of these are great examples of how the cast commits to the bit, and while both are comedic, they bring that same tenacity to the dramatic and tragic moments as well.
9 years baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My take on The Chime
A lot of things about Palisade Brnine really reminds me of Orth from the Counter/Weight kingdom game. Their ability to be emotionally sensitive and generally well liked but not have the backbone necessary for being a captain is very similar between the two characters. Not sure if this is a take someone else has mentioned b4 but I have very much been curious to see if an Ibex is going to show up on the Blue Channel
