i don't know if it's Friends at the Table as a piece of art or the very specific life circumstances under which i started and have been listening to it, but no other piece of art i've ever enjoyed is as tightly linked to Memory as f@tt is. hearing the first beats of The Long Way Around makes me want to burst into tears, not just because COUNTER/Weight is so, so, so good, but also because all of it is so tightly linked to the nice memories i have of listening to it (during a time nothing else was nice). it's good, it's lovely, f@tt is The podcast of all time

i listened to all of the finale episodes of COUNTER/Weight sitting on the balcony, smoking cigarettes, and it kept getting darker and colder; it was february. i only went inside to go make tea to warm myself, to get a fluffy jacket, to get my phone charger. i had to leave the balcony door open so i could charge my phone with the power outlet at the wall right next to it while listening. many things made me sad, but it was Ali who made me cry because *she* was audibly crying while deciding not to let Aria sacrifice herself. i'd composed myself by the time i'd reached the end, but then Austin ended the whole season by saying "and then the emergency *chime* sounds" and i started (good-)crying again.

#whenever i think of the valentine affair i think of assembling the giant ass piece of ikea furniture in my room #it's forever imbued with Marielda #also when sangfielle six travelers finale was airing i listened to every episode while sorting and bottling maggots for display #as a lab assistant in high school. and every week i would pray for the pickman ep up until the very end #and being very into counterweight the summer i learned how to drive forever changed my relationship to both cars and summer
