Above the landing field at Mont-Saint Pierre, Québec, Way up at the top of the Gaspé peninsula, and the site of two national championships and many fly-ins over the years. When soaring above this site, you can look over a hundred km across the Estuary of the st. Lawrence River to the North Shore, and perhaps spot a whale or two. Memories of the 1976 Grouse Mountain Invitational hang glider competition. There was a wide variety of designs I've hang gliders to look at. It was quite a challenge for the pilots to rig their gliders in amongst the blueberry bushes. I also recall lots of waiting around for the clouds to lift. As a young, relatively inexperienced pilot, I was thrilled to be there and meet some of the most famous names in the sport at that time. In future years, I would return as a competitor. Camera Concepts, day 6. first day with my small Akaso action camera on the tripod Outdoors. Many challenges! Very hard to see the small screen in bright sunlight, and impossible to get my Bluetooth remote to pair with the camera, so I was not able to take pictures using voice commands. Every time I turn on the camera, it wants to start up in video mode and I have to wrestle with it to switch to photo mode. This looks like a fairly unremarkable selfie, but it's anything but. this, and the one of my desk, are the very first pictures I have taken without any Assistance. When you have as little Independence as I do, that is actually a huge accomplishment! my new voice activated action camera, the akaso v50 elite, is a low-cost to the GoPro that is getting good reviews online for its image quality and video image stabilization. Besides the voice control, and the touch screen, it also has a wrist mounted remote that I can use to turn on the camera and take photos or video. These features are all of most importance to somebody with no hand or finger function , and little arm strength for that matter. While taking video, you can select narrow, medium, or wide view angles, in order to fit in as much as you want, or as little. at the moment , it seems like photos are only taken with a wide view angle. Giro d'Italia, 1956. Fiorenzo Magni, riding with a broken collarbone after a crash on stage 12, tied a piece of inner tube to his bars and gripped it between his teeth to help steady the bike.

He wasn’t steady enough to avoid another crash on stage 16, in which he landed on the broken collarbone and also broke his arm.

Nonetheless, Magni completed the remaining six stages and finished second overall.

It was a great afternoon to watch the final day of the Tour de bowness weekend. This time it was a Criterium race, 40 laps around a one kilometer Loop in front of @bowcyclesports . Really fast moving bikes in category 1! Sadly, there was a crash right in front of me on turn one. I hope the rider is okay after his trip to hospital.
