Since this fucking guy:
Has been front and center in every news article I’ve been reading, let me just reiterate something.
Norse Paganism has no room for fascists, nazis, Trumpers, alt-righters, Proud Boys, or whatever else they call themselves.
They are the lowest of the low, and Niddhogr will gnaw on their bones for all eternity.
He is a cowardly and foolish fanboy of the Viking Age, and an embarrassment to us all.
We don't claim this vile piece of shit. He is NOT Heathenry. Hate and bigotry has absolutely no place in our spaces and it's disgusting.
I can't fucking get away from this guy. Everything that needs to be said has already been said. He does NOT represent Heathenry and we will never accept him.
I reblogged this without thinking twice, and... it's not quite right. Or, rather, the responses aren't quite right. He is unfortunately a part of Heathenism. So are others of his ilk. They are fringe, they are worthless, but they are a part of us - and a very vocal part. We need to deal with our trash.
^^^
I made this post last night when I was more angry and frustrated, and I fell to the No True Scotsman fallacy. Neo-nazis and white supremacists cling and fester on our religion like the infection they are. As heathens, we have to deal with our trash. We need to get rid of our infection.
This is why people are uneasy around us who wear mjolnirs or have runic tattoos.
This is why our sacred symbols are on lists of nazi symbols.
Some nazis are pagan. Despite all the noise they make, they can’t be representative of our community. We can’t let them.
Even though I do not want his face appearing on my blog, it’s important to spread the message! Crush fascism, crush nazis, they have no place here!

Merry Yule to everyone! May the gods bless you with a truly good new year!
The Christmas Tree and the shamans
It’s that time of the year again, where we decorate our homes to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. Even though the tradition to celebrate Christmas seems to be a purely Christian holiday, it hides quite a few elements that derive from an even older, heathen culture. Shamans used to decorate pine trees to honor the world tree, the cosmos and the everlasting cycle of life. The christmas tree is evergreen, even when the sun is furthest away from us, the days are short and the nights cold. It marks the cycle of life, the cycle of becoming and perishing. The tree shows us that a new cycle is being born out of the old one. The celebration of christmas becomes a reminder of the sacred grove, the place of prayer in heathen times. In the scandinavian languages christmas is called “jul”, which can be traced to the old norse word “jól” - “spell” or “feast of summoning”. Another name for Odin is also “Jólnir”, the jul-magician or -summoner. Odins wild army is still called “Jolareidi” (Jul-ride) in the norwegian language. If you set up the christmas tree in your home, remember to pay respect to the tree of the cold night, our world tree, decorated with legends and myths.
The three main paths of The Nordic Ways
1. TROTH
The way of Troth is to put oneself - in a true and faithful way - into a relationship with the gods, which includes the cultural traditions of the people as well. The main aim is to find the right way of conduct and life for oneself and to harmonize with that path. The result should be the creation of harmony and truth in the own life.
Troth is a free form of religion where there are no dogmas or holy scripts. Its sources are the flesh and blood of its members. The task of the members is to acquire knowledge of the culture, history and mythology of the forefathers and to use that hidden knowledge in rituals to keep it alive. Acting out the religion strengthens the message of it in our character.
The guideline of Troth is the duality of learning and working. To manifest this path it is vital to pass the knowledge to future generations.
2. RUNE-GALDOR
Rune galdor is the magic technique to shape the inner and outer world in line with the will of the magician. The master of this kind of magic is Odin, who also possesses the techniques of wisdom and inspiration that are needed for this path. The word “galdor” can be derived from a word that describes the cry of the raven - “the song of the ravens”. It refers to the ravens Hugin and Munin that sit on Odins shoulder to whisper their knowledge into his ear. Hugin represents the power of intellectual thinking, while Munin represents the ability to contemplate and to memorize. Galdor is the skill and practice to listen to the runic words of the ravens, to grasp them and ultimately to implement them into the “real” world. The ravens reflect certain parts of the soul or psyche. In the center of the soul is the self. From the vibration between the spirit and memory comes true intelligence and wisdom. The goal of galdor is to share the results of this kind of magic with the rest of the world, which is why language is an important element on this path.
3. SEITH
Seith is a magic path of the body (as opposed to the mind) and is, such as rune-galdor, a magical technique to shape the inner and outer world in line with the will of the magician. The master of this kind of magic is Freya. Instead of working with unkown elements to get familiar with them, the magician working with Seith completely immerses in the unknown world to become connected with it. If necessary the practicer of seith can change the structure of the universe in line with her/his will. This path will require to work with psychophysical worlds: the body, shapes, breath and luck/chance. Materials and substances like potions, herbs or ointments are elements of this path.
