person: are you okay?
me: yes I am fINE just tired:))
I’m glad you’re existing
going to the doctor when you’re chronically ill is weird.
It’s like imagine everything in your house is on fire, and you’re standing there and the fire department come in like, describe the fire to me and maybe we can find what caused it and put it out.
and you can’t just say everything so you’re like… well the fire in the curtain is the biggest but the fire in the photo albums might be doing the most damage also the fire in the couch is really inconvenient
occasionally the fire guy is like, well your tv is on fire so it might be electronic-fireitus but that would cause other things like fire in the dvd player
and you’re like, oh yes. that’s been on fire for years. I forgot to mention it because it’s always been a relatively small fire. It’s right next to the bookshelf which has much more fire.
and then the fire guy is like, oh. I wouldn’t worry about that. book shelf fire just happens sometimes.
THIS IS SO ACCURATE
Yes!!
Can’t stop reblogging
When I get something done and immediately get a flare
[Gif of Matt Damon in The Martian raising both of his arms in celebration right before an explosion knocks him backwards.]
Pleading with your body like:
me: stop it! settle down! it’s all okay! no need to get nasty here!
body: screw you, i do what i want.
When you find a new doctor
When someone asks “How are you?” and I automatically say I’m fine
Waiting for a diagnosis sometimes feels like waiting for permission to be ill.

it’s so weird to me that I can sleep 13+ hours or be up all night with painsomnia and still feel exactly the same (re: awful) in the morning either way. like, wtf body?
If Someone Asks What’s in Your Food, Answer. If Someone Declines to Eat Your Food, Respect That.
I have always had severe allergies and severe food intolerances, so I have always had to ask and often decline. I grew up having to ask and usually decline. Many, many people need to ask and often decline foods they can’t eat for whatever reason.
I am shocked when people suggest it’s impolite to ask and impolite to refuse.
I think it is impolite to refuse to answer and exceedingly impolite to insist.
Not sure how to explain to my dad that I've been 'sick' for 13 years and somehow don't think it will 'get better soon'
Disregarding trigger foods like
when you thought you could do things without a flare
