They’re already lobbying for this generous gift to be 90% tax-deductible, meaning that in the end, it’d be French taxpayers footing the bill.

Let’s also not forget that these specific people have dodged at least 2.5 billion euros in taxes. Maybe if they’d paid what they owed, the Notre Dame disaster, partly caused by lack of public funds, could’ve been avoided in the first place…

I think this is a practically-free PR stunt and little else for them.

Always think twice (and critically) about the charity work of billionaires.
