“ well actually that is kind of exactly what it’s about. you asked me, a black person, to tell you which comedy you should watch. you did this assuming that i have seen something because it’s popular in your culture. i could go way deeper into this but i don’t really give enough of a fuck to educate you on something you clearly don’t care about. ” rolling his eyes he shook his head, “ i’ve been watching meet the blacks, all about the washingtons and living single they’re all hilarius. ”
“Okay, you aren’t wrong. I asked though because both are popular, known shows by a wide variety of people. I’ll have you know though, I’ve seen Meet the Blacks. Mike Epps is actually one of my favorite comedic actors. All about the Washingtons and living single though, I’ll add them to my list. After this particularly stressful semester, I need more laughter in my life.”
“ neither…both of those shows are so white it actually hurts, i honestly don’t think i’ve ever made it through an episode of either. i don’t think ‘m the right person to be answering this question. ”
“Well. That is a great way to make this about something that it’s not, but okay. Any suggestions then? I’m trying to have a good laugh, not a cry or scare, so do you have any binge worthy comedic shows on Netflix to suggest?”
“Okay, serious question. With Christmas break coming up, I’m trying to decide which show to start binging during my free time. Parks & Rec or The Office?
---So in other words, John Krasinski or Chris Pratt?”
“WELL…I don’t know about you but personally I’m in the mood for a little night swim.” A soft smirk preying onto his lips as mischievous, blue orbs glisten, “Care to join me?”
At the mentioning of a night swim, Mia couldn’t hide her interest. A night swim and with some rather pretty company, well who would turn that offer down? “Only if clothing is optional.” She teased, somewhat jokingly.
“this is pointless!” the tiny girl all but shouted, slamming her large sociology text book shut with a force that echoed through the library. she dramatically pulled the hood of her oversized yale sweatshirt up, tucking her head between her folded arms on the table, “it’s so STUPID i didn’t even want to take this boring ass, hard class. i hate it. i’m just gonna FAIL. i don’t care at this point.” she continued to rant, though her words were wildly muffled as they were absorbed by the table.
Mia often lost herself in her books, in her studying. It was almost always too easy to lose herself in the knowledge she was soaking in, but today, her concentration was disrupted all of a sudden when a girl at the table beside her shouted her complaints and frustration.
That was ridiculous. Mia shook her head and rolled her eyes, attempting to focus again although when the girl continued on, Mia shut her book loudly and looked over at the girl with a stern, obviously annoyed look. Her words were muffled, but she caught enough. “Hey, sweetie.” She called out in a loud whisper. “Just in case you forgot, you aren’t the only one in this library and while you have given up, some of us are actually here to put in the effort to study and ace our finals. Tutors are on the third floor, maybe you should head there, instead.”
The quad was boring, not for lack of things to do or people to see, the rendition of Hamlet the theater department was putting on as part of their ‘Shakespeare in the quad’ event was actually pretty entertaining, but it was well past dark and Scotty wasn’t allowed to drink here, not to mention he couldn’t exactly throw a party in the middle of campus, at least not without some planning ahead and so he turned to the person who had decided to sit next to him with his most charming smile.
“Hey, let’s get out of here and have some real fun.”
Surprisingly so, Mia actually enjoyed theater. She wasn’t exactly talented in the acting department, but she enjoyed herself a good show especially if it were a musical. So it was no surprise that she was in the quad, watching the theater department put on a show for the entire student body.
It was rather busy though and Mia had already held three yoga classes earlier this morning and went for her run which meant dealing with a crowd of people required way more energy than she was willing to put in. An empty seat caught her eye and she rushed over before someone took it, not really sparing a look in the direction of the one sat beside her. Until he spoke up, anyways.
She quirked a brow in his direction. Now fun was something she was willing to put energy into. “Some real fun? How could I ever say no to that? Only--- how do I know your idea of fun isn’t ax murdering some woman you don’t know?”
“you think mediums are telling the truth?” thomas wondered aloud, unaware of the nosebleed that started. “because i say they’re full of shit.. you listen to them, and they just go on and on about these evil ass entities that wanna consume our souls n’ shit– where’s the balance?”
“I’m going to ignore the odd coincidence that is you getting a nose bleed while talking shit about mediums and just--- here.” Mia dug through her purse to retrieve her little pack of tissues. “Which if you didn’t catch--- you’re definitely bleeding from your nose right now... lean forward some and...” she leaned over to pinch his nose gently just above his nostrils. “Pinch your nose right here... did you go see one or something?”
“alright be honest.” aspen paused and put the new pair of sunglasses on. she knew it was the middle on winter, but she wanted to wear them and thought they looked good with her outfit. however; she wanted a second opinion. “sunglasses ? yes or nah ?” inquired the blonde.
As Mia ran her fingers through her hair in an attempt to add some volume to her hair, she glanced over at Aspen. She pursed her lips in thought for a second. “Yes.” She answered, “it’s kinda cloudy out, I think but--- definitely yes. You look cute!”
“So… I’m doing this research thing around the campus, and it’s just something I’ll need it for my medical project, do you mind to help me a little? I promise I won’t be bothering you too much!” Lohan had a great and friendly smile to his face while holding a notebook and a pencil to his hands. “Just a few simple questions, nothing too personal I think!”
“A medical project, huh? ---Pre-med?” Mia questioned curiously, brushing her hair behind her ear and out of her face. “I’ve got a lunch date with me, myself and I though in like, twenty minutes so as long as I’m not too late.” She joked with a friendly grin. “Ask away.”

Hello, new friends!! I’m Red and I’ll be playing this beaut, Mia. She’s my fave partially because her fc is hilary duff. I know I should wait to post my intro until my follow link is posted, but I’m about to call it a night and hit the hay, so figured it wouldn’t hurt to get a little head start since I work almost all day tomorrow (I’ll be around in the evening!!)
So here’s a bit about her:
tigger warning: mentioning of alcoholism & depression
very headstrong and can get pretty wild, strives to enjoy life to the fullest and is usually great at keeping a smile on her face even when she might feel like her world is falling apart around her. tends to be pretty private about her personal life, but also struggles with wearing her heart on her sleeve in certain situations with certain people
has a big heart and is very passionate, which also means she is a bit of a grudge holder. she’s a very nice girl, but once you cross her, she tends not to forget
might come off as a goody-two-shoes to some, but is far from it
born in seattle, wa
raised by only her father after her mother left them when she was 3 years old, they then moved to queens, nyc
had to grow up too quickly when her father continued to struggle with alcoholism and depression; she often found herself taking care of him, not the other way around
graduated in the top twenty of her class
experimented sexually in her early years at yale, concluding in her realization of her bisexuality
was cheated on during her freshman year at uni and it sent her in a bit of a spiral to rock bottom, but eventually realized that letting herself tumble downwards like that wasn’t her. she pulled herself back up with the promise to never let herself become her father again
currently works as a bartender and yoga instructor while she finishes up her master’s of science in physical therapy degree
I’ll stop there for now, by this weekend I should have most of her pages fixed up with all of her info. I’d love for her to have some developed relationships as she’s been at yale for a few years now, so if anyone’s up for that, please hmu and let’s chat.
