Hudson x 😛
I think Hudson being Canadian kind of saved his career. He can be the face of a rapidly growing film industry trying to finally get out of the USA's shadow and get projects off the ground that will then get international releases thanks to his clout instead of being spit out of the holywood machine when they're done with him if he was American. The way the media talks or just doesn't about him is so transparent, some people at the top really do not fuck with him because an Asian man taking all this space is not fitting in their fantasy at all.
An entire country is backing him, like they love him and for that I smile.

Here are my favorite takeaways from the Hudson Williams Grump Thespian interview:
1. Hudson was intentional already at Langara. Choosing roles that are all over the place and pushing his comfort zone in all direction. And now that he has choices, he’s still doing exactly that - choosing roles deliberately and wanting to go for meaningful projects.
2. He knows he can still improve and wants to do theater to sharpen his skills, but is even more picky about plays than film scripts.
3. He doesn’t compromise on quality. He prepares for roles and will not accept a project where he doesn’t have the time he needs to deliver the performance he expects of himself.
4. He’s a snobby picky bitch and he knows it. He invests heavily in the art and kind of looks down on people who want acting for fame/money and don’t want to learn about the craft.
5. He has strong views on what he likes and doesn’t like and is not shy to say it, even inside the CAA Death Star. He didn’t let the agency steamroll him but rather managed to get a team who aligns to his goals and supports him in his ambition (filtering crappy scripts from the get-go).
6. He gets more scripts than he can go through but he is trying to build his schedule in a way that leaves space for the projects he really wants
7. There is a script out there with zero money or studio backing that he already committed to bc he loved it 👀
8. He has a great support system, with Connor (for industry stuff), his family, friends and team. Different people provide grounding different ways
9. He values brutal honesty (Zack mention!) over Yes-Man. There is a Scandinavian-Korean pipeline in his life telling him as is.
10. He has a healthy view on fandom and knows his true fans outweigh the haters. He also tells us to chill and just move on from the hate, not put screaming losers on the jumbotron.
11. He loves every part of filmmaking, but acting is his truest love. He wants to direct, but only if it's his own script (Orson Welles mention). Everything about the profession is valuable - be in it for the art.
12. 6 hours in the Louvre is perfectly normal imho
13. New film recs: Citizen Kane, The Place Beyond the Pines, Portrait of a Lady on Fire
Hi, hope you are having a good day ❤️
I was wondering if you or your followers know if anyone has made a list of every product that has been sold out or has had a notable increase in sales thanks to "The Hudson Effect"? Because at this point there have been so many I've kind of lost track😅
A quick compilation from threads:
And this doesn't include the clothes he sold out from smaller fashion brands, the jewelry, fancy bags, Peloton stocks, or the impact on the sales for the books he recommended. I have no doubt that Leilani's inbox gets flooded constantly.
Fuck the noise let's recenter Hudson on a new podcast.
I think that if HudCons just accepted and said yea we’re misogynistic and hate H’s gf for no reason other than she’s a woman a lot of people would have less of a problem with them. Still have a problem because obviously being misogynistic is bad but it’s the constant coke rants followed by “we’re misogynistic for saying that she’s evil based on fucking nothing” that piss people of the most
right??? 😭 i don't think i ever read a good reason for their hate like they never explain it they just like to talk shit and fantasize about her being a bad person and a toxic girlfriend lol
Most of this is based on their imagination too 😭
