all verses are open to everyone unless stated otherwise!

v: someone to claim us; someone to follow

mainverse. can be set before, during, or after Mirror Mirror; it’s fairly ambiguous/generalised, often used as a default.

v: this world has nothing for me

set during (or mimics the plot of) Mirror Mirror, where Kirk is trapped on the USS Enterprise.

v: hope makes martyrs of us all

set a long time after Mirror Mirror, when Spock has convinced Kirk to start trying to change the way Starfleet and the Empire operates. Kirk is extremely hesitant about this, having lived a life of utter mercilessness and brutality. He has... a talent for negotiation and diplomacy, it turns out, but using that talent is terrifying, confusing, and often disastrous. Kirk is largely still skeptical about Spock’s ideals and hopes for the future, but he’s at least willing to try (even if, at first, he disguises it as simple self-preservation of a sort).
