My internal characterization of Amanda is based mostly in fanon and headcanon, so obviously no one else is beholden to it. But I can’t see Amanda telling Spock human myths-for-children as if they were true.

Amanda is the only human with input in Spock’s development. I don’t think most Vulcans would even know these myths, and if they did, they’d probably deride them as illogical. Additionally, between biological differences and the cultural impetus toward logic, I think Vulcans would develop critical reasoning skills far earlier than human children.

All this would mean it would be very difficult for Amanda to maintain the lie. And given that Spock is culturally Vulcan, I don’t think he would understand the human norm of age-appropriate censorship, nor the lies and myths that often go with it. Vulcans don’t even seem to use metaphors (outside of language related to Pon Farr, which is very strictly taboo, and the only taboo we know of).

I think that when he learned the truth, he would see her telling of this story as a betrayal of trust, and critically, I think Amanda is smart enough to know that. If she wasn’t comfortable talking about procreation with Spock, she’d tell him that her cultural norms place heavy taboo on teaching the subject to children as young as Spock. So go ask your father.

But Spock trading with a stork to get a little brother is precious, so I propose an alternate setup:

Instead of working on Souvenir From Vulcan, I made this kid Spirk fic that was originally intended to be a fluffy 5k one-shot based on one of @sofluffygonnadieeee bb!spock comics and now it’s an 12k monster with a possessive kid Spock who kidnaps a baby Jim for a fun day out that made me cry writing it, and now it’s turned into a series. It’s grown out of control. Help.

i love your art style! the way how the second time sarek or amanda show up in a comic strip it becomes a little bit impressionist and i think that is really neat!
