2014 marks the 13th anniversary of 9/11
The Tribute of Lights, a light tribute, produced by the Municipal of Art Society (@MAS_NYC) and comprised of 44 7,000-watt xenon light bulbs arranged into two squares in the shape of the twin towers, will officially begin at sunset on 9/11 and last until sunrise on September 12th. Last night I was treated to a very shocking and stunning view of the tribute as I rode the Staten Island Ferry back to NYC. It turns out, the tribute was being tested for it's annual lighting.
It was quite moving as I approached Manhattan to see the tribute illuminating the sky next to the now completed One World Trade Center, standing bright on the skyline as the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere.
One word I thought of... Resilience. 🇺🇸
