Does Anyone Know About "Teacher Mom" Programs in the Greater New York City Area in the 1960s and 1970s?
I was in kindergarten in a suburb in New York City in 1969-1970-ish. I was held back in kindergarten, and for part of one year, I spent mornings in the Teacher Mom program. I and another girl from my school would be picked up and driven to another location where we would have individual instruction in our own cubicles. At about noon, we would be driven back to our school.
I've recently become interested in finding out more about this part of my childhood. I knew it would difficult given both my parents died years ago and I don't remember any details about Teacher Mom beyond what I just wrote. But I didn't think I wouldn't learn ANYTHING AT ALL. Googling has yielded nothing. I posted a query on quora.com. The post has been read, but no answer. I went to Usenet (after unnecessarily getting two new Usenet provider accounts I don't need and figuring out how to get Mozilla Thunderbird to work with Supernews) and posted a query in alt.education. Nothing, not even a snarky comment from the right-wing loudmouths who seem to be the only ones posting there. I'm posting a question here because I have no idea where else to go. And at this point, "Tumblr is not for old white guys like you! Get off this platform!" would be more than I have received so far. But if someone has a real longshot, that would be good, too. Hell, it would be a bloody miracle at this point. Thanks in advance.
